Yep, definitely. I figure most of you guys talk about drag racing and street racing, but I'm an SCCA member, and I autocross, next year in a few National Events hopefully. I just hear everybody saying they have no place to race, so I send them to SCCA's website. You don't necessarily need a track to autocross, and the SCCA provides areas where you can run your ride. It's just as fun and exciting as any other racing you could do for that amount of money. I love the SCCA. If it weren't for them, I'd probably still be still be sittin at home watchin F1 every weekend.Originally Posted by 95_acc0rd
Plus, the name of this forum is Accord Racing, so I figure this is a good place to find Racing Accords!
I wish I could be in SCCA.
It's not that hard, just check out the site (www.scca.com). And no, I don't work for the guys, I've just had an awesome experience with the Club and I'm trying to spread the word. Sorry if I sound like a salesman, I just love racing... to death.
Yea I know its available but I just dont have the time for it, working 6 out of 7 days, well nights in my case, sucks.
dont take that literal

I damn near drifted in the Accord today in the autocross event. I was in the same class as a Mini Cooper, and those things are quick around the cones. I really pushed the car to its limits, and over the limit a couple times. I ended up getting a 56.4 to his 54.0. I'd say that's ok considering the two vehicles. Stock suspension just doesn't get the job done on a 4 door family sedan.
you still got stock suspension and your beatin your car like that?

Yeah, pretty stupid, huh? I actually have a 91 Mustang that I race, but I'm replacing a hurt engine, so I autocrossed the Accord in the meantime because I needed all the seat time I could get. It's held up so far through 3 events with no problems whatsoever, but I don't think I'll run it anymore until I get an upgraded suspension and a stronger engine. Did I mention it's an automatic? Everyone says I'll race anything that has four wheels, which isn't far from the truth.
