okay i'm bored at work so here we go....
first let me say that i'm not a mechanic and i am not responsible for anything that is inacurate, also i recommend that unless you yourself are competent in automechanics that this be done by a professional especially the wiring b/c there needs to be some rewiring done.
OBD1 is the easiest to work with on this, the f20b ecu is unusable i forgot why but don't even bother with ordering it. Same with an f20b auto tranny not sure about the f20b manual but it should be fine, if you do happen upon a good deal on a f20b auto tranny it will fit 6th gen 4cylinders. No special mounts will be needed simply remove your accord mounts and place them on the f20b. You will need a few parts if you want power steering these include
-97 prelude p/s bracket (80 bucks from Honda)
-97 prelude p/s pump (get a used one you don't wanna pay for new)
-97 prelude crank pulley (i actually recommend a Unorthodox one b/c it's only a few more bucks)
You need these b/c in japan the f20b engines have a electric p/s pump that is controlled by a knob in on the dash (pretty cool)
you will also need a h22a intake manifold and iacv (idle air control valve) you def want to find a used iacv its over 200 bucks from honda, this being that the f20b one (which is really nice by the way) has no iacv mounting point b/c the iacv is attatched elsewhere on the sir-t.
As for your other accessories such as a/c compressor and alternator just transfer them from your accord engine
i recommend acquiring a msd external coil upgrade kit, you will need the kit for a 00 civic si this isn't necessary but a good upgrade for reliability. also if you need to replace a dis cap that's the one you'll need.
heres where it gets pricey, if your car is already a vtec no worries if not you'll have to add the vtec wiring, you'll need to get either a chipped ecu or stand alone unit, i tried using an ex ecu and you get a nasty misfire, it works but it won't be any fun, if your car is obd1 this shouldn't be too much of a problem, i recommend getting a chipped p28 ecu and a program to run an h22, any performance or dyno shop should be able to do this for you for around 200 stand alones are always better. Obd2 manuals will need a regular obd2-1 harness which is around 100 bucks. If you have a auto obd2 auto like me its more expensive so i recommend doing a manual swap(H22a and accord trannys bolt up fine, recommend the accord tranny if you're going to boost)....if you keep the slushbox also like me you'll need these items
obd2-1 auto transmission conversion harness ($250) jkobd has them
again the chipped ecu
and a tranny controller from a early 90's prelude si (if you want good revs)
You may be able to use other ecu's and maybe your own accord one if it's obd1 i'm not sure but i know p28's are the easiest ecu's to program and chip so that's what i recommend and it's what i'll be running.
here's an estimate on pricing for stuff
Used F20b fairly low miles-14-1700
H22a Intake manifold-100-200 dollars used
H22a IACV-220 (new)
Unorthodox crank pulley-250
MSD external coil conversion 00 civic si (includes cap wires and blaster coil)- 98 (ebay)
H22a p/s bracket-89 (new)
H22a P/s pump-99 (used)
I recommend this swap for OBD1 and Obd2 Manual tranny's otherwise you don't get all the revs out of it unless you shift your auto tranny (which i do and have never had any problem with) usually OBD1 Manual cars don't have a prob with this swap the biggest hump is the ecu problem talk to your local dyno or performance shop for some options. I'v tried not to leave anything out but if i have i'll add it in. This may seem like alot but think of the advantages...
12:1 compression (higher than h22)
40-50lbs lighter than h22
Higher reving than h22a
and all h22 performance parts will fit
also the added bonus of having an engine that including myself, 7 or 8 other people have (that i know of)
Have fun
