    Default Sound System Advice

I'm planning on getting a 1000 watt amp. I also want some huge subs and I dont know where the best place is to install them. I dont want to put them in a box if I have too (need trunk space). Someone suggested to take out my spare tire and put a single magnet 15" sub in there. Another suggestion was to put them into the top of the trunk lid. I'm putting the amp under the seat, so thats done, but I'm not sure about the subs. If you have any advice from your own experience, please let me know.

haha why u need all the trunk space u hiding bodies or somethin'? i got my two 12s in a box right up against my back seat/strut bar. i still have enough room to fit a fully packed military duffle bag, which is pretty big if youve seen one. and my amps, high-mids and lows, are bolted to the back of the back seat. which just fits when i close it all the way.

Yah, i just bolted my sub amp to the rear seat, and I only have 1 10" RF t1 w/600watts rms/ so that's I all I need. I have tons and tons of space, in fact, the sub box is all-over the place(since there's so much room ), when I drive(aggressively, that is) lol. Well, back to your subject, I would just do the "take-out the spare tire, putting a single powerful sub in there" deal. Fiberglass the bitch and flush it to the trunk carpet top. Now that's whatcha call stealthy. Which subs were you looking to get?

birdman! lol why dont you take some L-brackets and bolt that shit to your trunk? haha! sub flying around back there... my two 12s were like that. it push them back against the backseat, then when i would accelerate id hear *thump* the subs hitting the aft most end of the trunk. id carry some sorta screwdriver on me tho if u need the spare tire. i have a #2 phillips head and flathead on my keychain. pepboys has 'em.

lol I was thinking about that, but I might get another 10" t1 sub and get a dual enclosure or maybe even the spare tire thing. Yeah, I hear the *thump* everytime, especially after I gas it at a green light, and after the extra torque the alignment gave me. Im gonna paint my car first before I spend another $500 on speaker/enclosure tho'. So, how's your sub enclosure holding up now? You got pics?

I had the "thump" problem with the box too. I used the rubber mesh that is used to hold a carpet in place on a hardwood floor. If you still have the carpet in the trunk and the box is carpeted it holds pretty well without having to screw it in.

This is probably the way to go as far as size of speakers and trunk space that you are talking about. And this pic is from an accord as well.

heres my setup. the box breathes, plus i have space on the sides to put shit. i pushed mine as i said all the way back, against the backseat/strutbar. when u lift the seat back, voila, a secret hiding place to smuggle whatever. or just put extra quarts of oil, ice scraper, tire shine, etc. think the cops would think to look there? just kurious...the L-brackets are the shiny lil shits in front on both sides of the box.

My friend's hooking me up with 2 12" Fosgates, but IDK now. 1 huge sub hidden under the carpet would be badass... but im thinking either mount them on the underside of the trunk lid or on the sides of the trunk (one on each side)
By the way, they're 600W each, that's all I need. Just enough to vibrate the seats for my bitches.
