Use shrink wrap to seal the wires after soldering. That is the greatest stuff!

Those things generate a lot of heat. Better to mount it from the roof as opposed to in the headrest

you are luck that you didn't short out the whole electrical system. You can always add a capacitor before the radio to avoid that.
