hey ive gotta question. i pulled my plug wires the other day to see how difficult it would be to change plugs. well when i did that i discovered oil all over the bottom of the wire. is that normal? if not what is the problem and how can it be fixed? also, i was wonderin if would hurt my engine to run without an air filter.

if the oil is on the top half of the plug and on the plug wire check your valve cover gasket and spark plug seal... and if it is on the bottom.... thats trouble.. i have oil on the bottome of mine... and dont run it without an air filter... you can get all kinds of bad stuff in there and dust and stuff like that will go straight to the throttle body and clog it...

I had the same problem with my accord....just bought 2days ago (92 lx 2dr, tinted, 135k miles, auto, pw roof, non working cruise, and some fender rust..otherwise stock...1900.00 bucks), not bad...anyways, there was oil in the plugwells, maybe a hal inch deep or so, I first thought was the owner had put it in there for lubrication reasons, I have heard of that, so the plugs don't get thread-locked, but I got to looking and noticed the well seals were worn as mentioned by ridin90... I would check them..good luck.

hey, thanks for the info. ive got another question, theres a guy on a 94 accord vtech, with a muffler, cai with no filter and i think its gotta racing clutch, should i be able to beat him with two cars headstart. keep in mind ive gotta 93 ex with AT, a bootleg intake, and sticky tires. and yes its on the street.

Sunroof was an option. You can ask for it on Lx. SE and EX came standard with them

I doubt you'll even come close to winning that race, even with an f22a6. with a MT it would be close, tell him to give you 3 car lengths. lol Oh, and i had oil in my plugwells also. Its just a leaky seal. They arent difficult to replace.

I would say most likely not. But it would be very close.

yea, just from my experiences racing a f22a6 AT against my f22a1 MT. I walked all over it.

well with everything besides the clutch i would bet you would get him with a two car head start.... if not it would be close... i have alot of faith in the 4th gens... mine beat alot of things it probably shouldnt have.. just shift it like a manual at about 6200 rpm....
