i have a 90 accord ex with an automatic transmission. And i was wondering what does the sport button on the shifter used for and what does it do, when its turned on and off. Is it anything special about it, does it help the car in any way.let me know please.

I think the sport button is for more hp, like going on the highway and stuff. I think it will shift at higher rpms and stuff, always good for racing...

do you have a key slot for your shifter lock, if you dont, it might just be a shift locker

The sport button is it does is let your tranny shift at higher RPM. To let your engine rev up all the way to get your max hp. It is really good for racing. But if you are not going to race and drive normal I would turn it off. If you have it off your car burns less gas. But if you are going to race someone turn it back on.

the sport button was a gimmick..if you wanna go faster than push the pedal harder...you dont need no damn button to do it for you
