What kind of gas is best for your accord? Right now I am using Chevron's 91 Octane and its costing me $2.43. Its costing me hella money!!! I drive a 91 Accord Coupe.

I run my accord on 89 octane. I have a 96 Accord lx. Its engine is pretty much stock so i dont worry about putting high octane gas.

If you only have a stock engine with basic bolt ons then you don't need anything more than 87 octane gas. Anything other thant that is just a waste of money. The only way you need to run high octane gas is if you have very high compression or a turbo and that is to prevent detonation in the cylinders. Don't waste money on high octane gas when you could save it up for something that will really make your car run better.

What company gas do you buy? I tried ARCO but my engine starts to pin even on 91. So I switched to Chevron and Shell Gas. Do you know any other good company gas to buy from? But Chevron runs best in my car at 91 octane.

shiz..i just run 87 octane.. but it is chevron.. besides.. u dont need to run anything higher than what it says in ur manuel.. unless u have alot of mods and ur engine is gonna run hotter.. than run higher octane.. for city drivng run 87.. cuz 91+ octane is really for high compresssion engines... so if u got one if have to run 91+.. cuz it burns slower but i guess in cars that dont need high octane burns quicker.. i tink.. cuz high compression engines get really hot and it will burn 87 octane before it is suppose to off.. somethiing like that.. my car runs perfect at 87 besides gas is expensive now.. shiz..i dunno i just run 91+ when race.. lol..

For now with the crazy prices im running 87, ussually with a fuel injection cleaner every other tank.
If prices go down i will continue using 93 octane.
I can def notice a difference in driving performance.
That is up to $2 bucks a gallon here in NY.

in a stock/mildly modded engine, you will definatly not see a performance gain using higher octane gas, and you might even see a loss. the only gain is that it will burn cleaner.
the reason behind this is that stock compression is low enough to use 87 octane, and it burns quicker than higher octane. gaining anything from higher octane would require higher compression, and different fuel mapping.

if you pump chevron u dont need fuel injector cleaners.. cuz it already has it... i tink other gas has the samething.. dont waste ur time with cleaners but if u really have too. get the octane boosters.. cuz some of them have cleaners in it.. lol i have some.. but havent used it yet.. but it was on sale like $2 or soemthing usally it is 4-6$

Have you ever heard of adding lead back into your fuel? You can buy this stuff at and auto store. But it always said For off Road use only!! Does it give the motor more power if you add lead back into your gas???

NO DO NOT PUT LEADED FUEL INTO YOUR ACCORD!!! Our cars are made to run on only unleaded fuel, as are almost all other new cars.

Do not put lead or leaded fuels in our cars or you'll cook your cat - and not in a Chinese-food kind of thing either. It does other damage as well.... Lead was in fuel because it acted like a lubricant for the valves; that's why certain cars (read: dinosaur-mobiles) get what's called valve-seat recession because the fuel doesn't lubricate them enough.

How many litres in a gallon exactly? I think it's 4, but I'm not sure. I run 98 RON in mine (from Shell called Optimax), and it costs $1 / litre - so you think you've got it expensive? Normal unleaded (91) is about 91c / litre. It definitely makes a difference, not so much in power but smoothness and longevity. The higher grades contain cleaners and detergents that clean away carbon build-ups in the fuel system. It also lets you run advanced ignition timing, which will in turn make more power. I've got a chip in mine that means I need to run it on 98 always, in exchange for more power.

i started off using 87 octane gas n noticed car would sputter sometimes i used 89 to c what would happen n it ran a helluva lot smoother n quicker, i also noticed i was gettin better gas mileage so now if i don't have the money to use 89 i use 87 + i add octane booster. this gas i mostly use is from texaco or wawa (to those not familiar wawa is like a 7-11, i've only seen wawa in pa n south jersey, so i know sum of u r like wawa wtf is he talking about, lol)

Dude seriously I get better gas miles using 91 octane than using 87 octane. Plus my car runs hell a lot better. It doesn't ping or start to sputter at stop lights. But I am spending hella money on gas I drive about 500 + miles a week. I am buying hole shit load of gas at $2.35 a gallon for Chevron's 91 Octane. Tonight I was driving back home from Sacramento. I raced a stock accord just like my accord but it was red. It was hella funny because we were both topping out past 130 mph and my car kept slowly creping past his car. Maybe because I have my Intake added. Beside that my car is stock. I didn't think my intake will improve my power that much.
