the v-tech kicks in when you let off of the gas then mash the pedel down after a few seconds to kick the v-tech in. it will sound funny but my car dose it when i do that

what rpm does it kick in. please no dumb ass answers like let off ur gas and slam on it. i know that the throttle has 2 be at the wide open positon to engage, and i know that you can tell by the sound. but oil pressure matters. does anyone know?

This thread is too funny.

But I'll answer, one more time, it seems like I answer this question every few months on here.

On F22B1s and F23A1/4s it comes on when:

- only when the engine temperature has reached normal
- at 2300rpm and above, it can differ due to its design on SOHC VTEC
- the car has to be moving at minimum of 10mph

I believe that is all, you really wont be able to tell the difference between a downshift and VTEC activation on a SOHC VTEC vehicle because it is not set at one certain RPM like DOHC motors.
