I'm taking a big step to proov everyone out there that its possible for this swap. However, i know that some people have done this before. But i'm kinda stuck because my Valves are hitting my pistons!! My mechanics say that my vtec head has been milled too much. Anyone who has done this swap before, did anything situations like this a factor in your swap? If it wasn't for this the i'll be done with my swap already!! I'll post up my engine pix on my website as it is now!! Maybe later on today or tomorrow. It looks very nice actually. I want to dyno it and see how much its pushing. Well, any criticisms or answer will be helpful. My mechs say that it might be that the head gasket is too small and is in the process of ordering a thicker one. This is like like bullshit, and then he said that it might be another problem. Man what the fuck!! Its a headache!!

Sorry guys!! I found out the problem!! The Stupid guy who sold me the head gave me the wrong one!! It was from a 98 up accord vtec. Longer valves!! Anywho, the car is running fine now with the execption of the vtec because its no hooked up yet. So far its pretty quick in the Lowend!! More stronger than the regular head!! Any questions i guess i'll answer but befoe the vtec starts kickin, i'll be staying out of the streets!! hehehehe.........cars kinda loud too. :D

So you put a F22b V-tec head on a F22A4??? What ECU are u using? And what about the fuel curves?

i'm thinking of doing the same to mine...because a friend of mine just swapped out his 94 ex motor for an h22 and his motor is just sitting around. He has no need for it anymore and i was thinking of taking the complete head and put it on to my f22a1....i need help in finding what is needed to complete this swap...is it identical to an ls/vtec??

how would it make your car quicker in the lowend? that makes no sense, the vtec head would have more of an effect in top end due to the activation of the vtec solenoid. IMO this swap is a waste of time, your stock ecu isn't gonna compensate for fuel at the vtec activation point when you hook it up., as well as the fact that you did it for what, a 10 hp difference maybe

and this is nothing like an ls/vtec setup

ok im new to this whole honda tuning thing thing ..not sure on whats what yet i was into the korean thing before ...but to solve the whole problem of the fuel curve not being picked up by the ecu when the vtec kicks in couldnt you just add a piggy back such as an apexi s-afc since you can change the fuel curve by every 500 rpm so just figure out when it kiks in and have the s-afc do the rest? not sure though new to the honda thing.

Eh, sorry guys i haven't been comming here for a while since i'm busy working and all. Anywho, to answer the question on the lowend...............since i have no vtec............just running the regular VTEC head with new headers with Performance Cat........and catback system.............i felt more power in the lowend since my vtec isn't hooked up yet............hence..........my lowend is way stronger than what my stock used to be................ok??? About the waste of time thingy......nothing is a waste of time for me man!! Everything is worth a shot and therefore those of us who do the unthinkable..........gives way for those who cannot affort the power plant H22's. Or everyone is like me where i just F$#K around and try to put things together that nobody think is possible. My next project is trying to throw an H22 head on an F series block. I heard its possible and i want to do it then Dyno it to see what it gives out. As for the fuel curve thing.............there isn't any problems............i got everything ie....fuel rail (94 accord)....intake manifold (94 accord).....exhaust manifold (same ting)...........VTec injectors (right now)...........ECU..............just lazy to swap some wirings and soldering.....Can't find the time too but now that School is over (college) I'm free on the weekends so i'm gonna finish it. Yeah true that LS/VTEC is stronger but common........Thats why i want an H22 head now!!! ehehehheheeehe.

guys...........this is the website that you can find that faqs on how to put it together.............have fun!!! (Life is what you do to make it fun)

Have fun!!!

I have a 91 accord ex and i recently swaped the stock motor out for a f22b1 motor. everything hooked up except for the fuel system. the fuel hook up is on the oppostie side of the fuel rail and the fuel line from the filter wont reach the rail... what should i do? i tried to use the fuel rail off the other motor but it dosent hook up in the right spots.

Eh....you have to modify the fuel rail. Use the fuel rail from Vtec and you need to go and get a longer fuel line hose from Napa or whatever. Otherwise it won't work. Then just connect them. I came across the same problem because on our old manifold, the fuel feed is closer and the vtec one is on the other side. Therefore you need to get a hose that reaches over there. I hope this helps.

yea thanks. i was trying to see if i could get around spending money on fixing the problem but i guess i am going to have to just go get a longer fuel line.
