This is what I have noticed for some time now. Everytime there is a need to change oil on any of mine or my friends Honda's there is always a significantly less oil then what was put in. And the thing is, none of the cars leak at all.

All oil changed after 3000 miles

In my Accord
F23A4 need 4.5qts.
When drained only about 2.5qts come out.

In my Civic
D16Y8 need 3.9qts.
When drained only 1qt came out.

In my friends Prelude
H22A4 need 5.1qts.
When drained only 1qt left.

Anybody else?

weird. not me, and h22s are known to burn oil. i check my oil regularly and right before i drain it. its always at the line and when i drain, i dont measure but an assload always comes out since i use lucas stabilizer too. holy shit though, a quart left? thats craziness.

I have the same problem too. I know I need to replace my valve cover gasket, i can see it leaking on the back by the tb, but not nearly enough to be loosing quarts.

I was getting an oil burning smell that would come and go. I found it to be the breather hose was dumping a lot of oil back into my intake. The intake piping, throttle body, and butterfly were covered in oil. I cleaned all of that off and the oil burning smell has dissapeared. But if the oil is being circulated through there, it must be burning it, I would assume.
