im puttin a 90 ex motor in my 92 but do i need to change tha ecu or can i use my 92 ecu wit tha 90 ex engine? also tha 90 ex has a 4-2-1 dc header can i use that wit my lx exhaust piping or do i have to use tha lx header on tha ex engine?

i'd check into the ecu switch because there maybe a difference of horsepower which could make a difference not really sure but i would check it out 1st as for the headers it will be fine as long u have the 4-2-1 setup already if u currently have the 4-1? setup for the lx engine u should go with the 4-2-1 headers for the ex engine to maximize performance

Well anywayz the Lx headers do not fit the Ex block. Plus the Ex header is better anywayz because 4-2-1 more power. I also heard that the ECU on the Ex is a little different with the speed limiter. But really not too sure.

yeah the 90 ex doesnt have a speed governor.. thats what mine is and i dont have a governor... but i think i rememebr pat saying something about the lx and ex ecu are not changeable... on the old site.. before he disappeared

that's the million dollar question i wanna know, lol check the post i started a few weeks ago "speed limiter/governor removal" it's under 90-93 tech support engines a few posts back (sorry i couldn't link it 4 u) but i haven't really found out i believe the only way is to take it to someone to reprogram it or buy a jet chip n have them program it. i have a 92 ex auto that i can only hit 110mph b4 it rolls back n such, it really sux but check out the post maybe it'll help u but like i said i haven't gotten an exact clear answer yet
