what are the downsides to these pulleys? lacking AC? lack of momentum between gears when shifting? weak alternator?

They claim that there isn't a downside unless you have a stereo system that goes over 600 whats RMS. They say that only 20% of the power comes from underdriving and the rest is because they are so light weight. I personally haven't had a chance to experience them or know anyone with them. If anyone who is reading this post has unorthodox pulleys let us know how they run. Here is some quoted text from their site.

"Weight loss is the most critical factor in making, or more accurately, releasing Horsepower! Each pound of weight taken off the engines rotating assembly is worth approximately 2.7HP and the figure increases dramatically with forced induction, nitrous, VTEC and increased RPM's. Only 15-20% of the gains seen from our pulleys comes from the underdriving. The diameter of each of our crank pulleys is reduced up to 20%. We tailor the exact amount of underdrive to each vehicle based on factory specified accessory performance. We fully maintain all accessory output minimums like air conditioning efficiency, power steering feel, and voltage (minimum allowable voltage 12v) even at idle with everything electrical on in the car. There are no adverse effects from using any of our pulley versions. Bolt them on and forget about them, then just follow your vehicles normal maintenance schedule."

the pullies are bigger than stock, so it takes less effort to turn them, and yep they are very light weight, dont except tremedous gains maybe 3-7 hp

Man if I was still modding my F23 I'd so buy these. They are the best pulleys I know made for our cars, they have no problems like AEM ones. Yes they can be a bitch to install and your knuckles will bleed.
