carbon nanotubes- this weird polymer structure is tube shaped, with hemispherical ends, and is really small (nanometers) in diameter, but rather long. the atoms at the end are seemed together in a pattern just like a soccer ball. just by changing some structures these fibers are at least twice as strong as normal carbon fibers! It's also more ductile (bends without breaking more). just think how much weight you could loose by making body panels out of this. it would also keep from shattering better. haven't seen anything being made out of this yet, i just read about it in a book, but i can't wait.

as soon as you hear something aobut htis being made into parts for us, let me know.. i wanna check it out.. sounds cool..

it probably won't happen anytime soon, but if you hear of something made of nanotubes believe it, it's thought to be the strongest thing on earth now.

well, it's not really in the world of autosports yet...
i did a bit of looking around today, and it's being used in computers and such. i did find a few places that sell it, but for single thickness (smallest possible size 10 microns wide) is between 50 and 200 dollars per gram!!! try making a set of wheels out of that. it would cost you like $100K

ya but you could bet on having the only set of nanotube wheels around...hehehe one of a kind at that... super light, an super durable.. not a bad way to spend $100g's...heheheh

ya one day they will get around to it, but even then when they do start to make ish the accord will be the last thing they got in mind to build for... they would rather build shit for a gremlin then an accord... lol

if i ever go to wyotech, im going to make hella dope ish for the accords... an unlike the rest of the dealers out there, it will be for the accords an only accords.. maybe a few other cars, but mostly accords... two cars that will not get any love from me is the civics/integras though... they get all the cool stuff anyways already, so why give them even more cool stuff...lol
