The coilovers a bad choice in a first place to put on a car. I made the same problem, I put them on my stock shocks, they lasted a month and then my shocks blew out and the ride is so uncomfortable now, I'm waiting to buy new shocks and springs pretty soon. I guess you can say I learned the hard way.
My recommendation to you if you want to keep your stock shocks on buy the springs that will lower your car about 1.5" the most, DO NOT install those coilovers, adjustables that you are talking about, do not put them on your car if you arent planning to buy some adjustable shocks. Some good springs that will fit your stock shocks is Eibach, Neuspeed and Tokico springs.
Other choice is to buy a set of performance shocks and springs that will lower your car properly, and this way you wont have to worry about anything.
Some good ones are,
- TEIN Basic Damper - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, they offer other choices too. http://www.tein.com for more info
- Tokico Illumina Shocks and Springs
- ApeXi
they will cost you more but if you want your car lowered, this is a proper way to do it.
Hope that helps....

So you don't recommend getting coilovers huh? At first I wasn't planning on lowering my car any but the more I think about it, I've decided to (probably) lower it 1"; so just new springs would be best? Someone once told me if I were going to lower my car to go with coilovers instead of springs.

Well you can put on a coilovers and adjust them to lower the car only 1", but still I highly recommend the springs over them. There is springs out there that will lower your car about 1" or 1.5", just search. If you need some help on finding them reply back I'll help you out.

Thanks for the advice. I've been looking at some Eibach Springs to lower it 1.5". I won't be too picky over .5" I just don't want to drop it more than 1.5".
Thanks again.
