Just for few who dont know why and also doesnt only apply to Accords, other Honda models in the same years produced have had problems. Some 03+ Hondas also.

Here are the facts

ALL accords from 1998-2002 have the potential for transmission problems due to 2 major problems

1. Differntial bearings are made from substandard parts
2. 2nd gear gets nuked due to lack of lubrication when the main filter gets clogged.

The V6 cars suffer more due to the fact that 200HP makes the above 2 problems more apparent.

1998,1999, and 2002 cars are NOT COVERED under ANY WARRANTY extension. You may be able to get Honda of America to help you if you have complete service records and milage on the car

1999-01 cars are covered under a 100K 7 year warranty

good luck, my tranny sucks.

get stronger transmission parts? Dr. Evil Transmissions, they can built you a auto tranny to hold 400whp, but expensive
