When you say head, do you mean valve cover? The valve cover from an f22b1 has nothing to do with the VTEC....it just says it on there. To get VTEC, you need the solenoid...I have no idea how to install them, but there are tons for sale on ebay...just search for "VTEC solenoid". And if you're talking about something more extensive than the valve cover, then don't waste your time - VTEC isn't worth any money...it's only decent if it comes with the car. It honestly does very little.

i have a 94 LX, and it is very possible for me to put a ex head- by head i mean cylinder head the entire top half of the motor on my car.....it requires a significant amount of work, and not really worth it if you ask me, the time nd money you would invest would be better saved for me, for the h22 swap
there is a post on here where i asked that question and if i can find it i link it on here
but i have on rebuttle...saying vtec does very little is so not true...vtec adds a 2nd set of cam loes and adecent amount of power to your car at the higher end of your powerband, however to unleash its full potential you'd need a vtec controller and the know-how to use it effectively

I also have a rebuttle- VTEC will do the EXACT same thing wether it came on the car or you converted your car to VTEC there is absolutle no difference. And it is not all that hard, you would need the head (not the valve cover), the VTEC cam, the VTEC solenoid (which you need to get from another VTEC car not ebay), and an ecu from a car equiped with VTEC. From a reputable junk yard you should be able to aquire all of these parts for under $600. And no offense to anyone but people shouldn't answer questions if they don't know the answer. Sooner or later someone is going to get wrong information and really mess up there car.

Also, if you replace the head, you will have to replace the entire intake and exhaust manifold assemblies from the vtec as well. The vtec head has elongated intake and exhaust ports in it that are wider than the nonVtec head. :s
