Anyone out there have an adjustable cam gear? -If so, what do you have it set at?

I have messed around with mine a few times and didn't really notice anything unless I went too far in either direction with it.

I have one...leave it stock unless you are actually getting some real power or are using forced induction. Advanced and retarding your timing won't increase power in most causes on a mild N/A setup.

Well, this ain't no mild setup here. ;) I am actually getting real power out of it. It is an all motor config. -you can check out the list here > (Post#5) http://www.topendmotorsports.com/members/showthread.php?t=438 -So maybe I could benefit from tinkering with it???

BTW- I got my Walbro 255L pump($85) and adj. pressure regulator($85) off of ebay.. They work wonders man. Well worth it.

haha yea, 1.99 doesn't suprise me being california and all.. Cali sucks ass on gas prices.

Yea, I did lose some fuel economy but not much. Not nearly as much as I am losing running in open loop all the time. That is the worse thing that could happen to the engine for gas mileage. :(

Gas prices here are not too, too bad all the time... I usually pay an average of 1.89 for midgrade.

thats still a mild setup...sorry to break it to u lol. It may benefit like maye 3-5 hp with what you have so far. What i mean by mild setup is alot of bolts ons. The setups with polished & portmatched everything, high compression pistons, increased bores and strokes are the setups that adjusting the cam and ignition matters. It'd be best to take it to a dyno honestly and have them tinker with it but don't be suprised if the stock setting still yields more power than any other
setting. Usually adjusting the setting is just a safety feature.

On another note...what kinda of adj. fpr did you get off ebay...was it obx, r1, something of that nature?

polished & portmatched everything, high compression pistons, increased bores and strokes .. hmm all that would make ur car not street legal anymore??? i live in CA.. which that can be a big problem lol

i live in FL...no problems here lol :D . I guess you'd have to ask a tuner shop about emissions effects when a major build up is done...cause i wouldn't have the slightest idea because i don't have to worry about it
