So ive always wanted to move my vtec activation from the boring 2500rpm to more like 4000 or 4500 rpm's i dont need a Vafc cuz im going to get jet to reflash my ecu eventualy, so i did a search and found that buddy club just came out with a Vtec controller and they are seeling it MSRP $50... i just wanted to know what you all thought about this, buddy club is a respectable company so i was just wondering if it was worth it... plus has anyone here changed their vtec point?

You dont really need to do that on our engines, its not going to do anything.

But damn, for $50 its cheap/

Reed, how did you get your vtec at 2500?
I had to get a vtec chip/ecu for my other accord to get that activation. I agree w/ Muyo: H22 and f20b need that because their vtec is set too high. :idunno:

im not quiet sure i understand what your asking, but all accord vtec engine (4 cyl) activate at 2500rpm, the j30 V6 accords activate at 3500

the highest I've ever read of the vbtec being set on an f22b1 was 3100 and that was with some fuel/ignition tuning to compensate. I dont know about the f23 but I'll say this...if you set it higher, its going to feel like its kicking harder but dont let that sudden jerk fool you, If it hits "hard" all that means is that your power was dropping dramatically before it kicked in hence making the transition feel more powerful when you finally start making more power again. This is why most tuned h22's actually set a lower vtec point than stock and when tuned properly dont seem to hit as hard at the crossover as a stock h22 does. For some reason, honda seems to have set the vtec point about 800 rpms too high on the h22s for optimum performance and about 400 rpms too low on the f22b1's. ??

What is your redline?

same as f22b redline....

my redline is 6250 but fuel cut is at 6750

i know it will kick harder, but when im cruisin donw the inerstate im at 2500 rpms or higher (everywhere ive read says F23a4 vtec is set at 2500 rpm, its not i-vtec as u all know) so like i said, im usualy over 2500 rpm when im cruisin so my vtec is activated, and i do long streches on the inerstate so theoreticly turnin it back to Low cam profile means better mpg... i dono i'll see i found the buddy club one brand new for $35 on ebay,
also when i preformance drive im usualy at or above 4k rpm (which is where i want to set it)
(i can hear my vtec activate at 2500 cuz of my intake)

no when you're just cruising in the highest gear VTEC isnt activated

If it was set that low it would be affecting your gas mileage like crazy.

i guess the main reason is for city driving, when i accel i usualy hold each gear until 3500-4000 rpm on a regular acceleration, so if i can turn off my vtec / delay it until 4000rpm then i should get better gas milage, and it would pay for itself eventualy, plus the only place that my uber low vtec point helps is in 1st gear, when i redline it then my 2nd gear drops to 4k and no lower so i dont know
