Helper springs are unnecessary. Just get the II's.

ya I have the SS type II .. very comfortable .. springs never jump .. only sometimes if you jack up the car completely then let the jack free fall.. the helper spring would keep some pressure on the springs at all times and also add pre-load comfort ..

i think i know what the helper springs are for... if they keep the extra pressure on the spring at all times it probably lets you lower your car more.. i tried lowering the back of mine a little more and when i hit bumps the pressure would come off of the spring and it would sometimes not land right.. needless to say i put it back to where there is some pressure on the spring at all times.. its not a big issue unless you are trying to go really low.

It also eliminated spring binding in the rear when going up or down steep driveways.
