I was really concerned about the 6th gen trannies since I heard they burned out real easily.. if you're lucky then about 60k miles.. my dad heard about this and wants to sell my accord this summer. is there a fix - maybe switch to manual thats actually reliable? and how much would that cost, assuming it exists?
thanks guys...
hopefully, i get to keep my baby.:idunno:

You can get a CL-S 6 speed transmission but it costs a lotta money. At least 3K. There is only 2 people that I know of that have done this swap and it cost them a lot and there is a lotta down time.
Sell the Accord I say and get something else, that is one of the reasons I am selling mine this summer.

Get the new K24 Accord with a 5 speed, its faster than your V6 Auto anyways.

well, basically, my situation is like this: im going to be in socal soon - august or september, for college. now its 900/year for just parking at the dorms and i have to live at the dorms during freshman year. im open to ideas.. i mean, i love my car, but i have to let go and get something else, i can..
i was thinkin abt something along the lines of a CBR or something since i wont have to pay for parking - i can just park it in the bicyle parking :bounce:

i know you can get exhaust for a bike, and brake upgrades, but why would you want to mod a sports bike, they rev to 14,000 rpms, and are fast enough already....2 wheels = balancing act, and hitting a pot hole @ fast speed = fall down and get hurt or die 4 wheels = music, comfy seats, and upgrades aswell, look @ the supra's that can bet sports bikes, a dude @ work has a yellow sports bike, full factory racing tuned, and he was only going half throttle when i was behind him and he was pulling like a girlfriend that just saw those "cute" shoes she needs for that 1 outfit, i cant imagine him going full throttle, too damn fast, 230 mph top out probably

the bike seems really exciting and interesting, but for the sake of argument, is it possible to get one of those dr evil transmissions for my accord, and actually have it run?

I forgot about Dr. Evil transmissions, yeah, thats another possibility.

both are pretty pricey it depends on what you want if you want manual 6spd you'll have to work around codes thrown if somethings not done right. if you want the doctor evil tranny its around 4 grand for it. my friend has been debating on this for his v6 for a long time. hes been talking about v6performance crew is in the works for a new tranny and turbo kit setup that is suppose to be coming out sometime. he said that if it doesnt come out that he will just go with the dr. evil tranny.

what do you mean "if the codes are thrown"?

well heres pretty much a listing of prices and what not for just the 6spd swap
Tranny $4100
Clutch $300
Fly wheel $400
Clutch/brake pedal Assy. $100
CL-S Cams $250
Center Console $250 (prolly can get it less, eventhough one is not needed)
Total is $5400 and this you are buying from Delray Acura which includes warranty and is more reputable.
Do you run into any e.c.u. Problems when switching to the acura tranny. And do you have to put new axles or is everything pretty much all the same.?
axles are the same and there are ecu problems, so u would need a stand alone unit, I think jimmyrecluse had a Haltech
this is just some info on v6p.net im not sure if your on there but it has a lot of info on this type of swap and the whole cl-s swap
