hey everybody im new to this site...well i am buying a 1990 accord from a friend but i have some major questions. He said it needs a new timing belt so i asked a mechanic about it, and one of my friends stepdad and they sed mostlikely the engine is blown since the belt blew...i am confused because they told me to call honda and ask in the 90 accord has interfering valves...anyways i need to kno if it will run ok if i have the belt replaced...i know some ppl who will do it for me for free but they said it will take about 8 hours....so i need lots of help!! thanx in advance!

Most likely your valves are bent. It is cheaper to find another engine. I think; Than putting money back in for replacing timing belt and valves. How many miles was put on the car or engine? If isn't that many miles then I say replace the timing belt and valves. But if it has hella miles I say just get a rebuild engine. Because you don't know how much life is left in the engine you have now.
