I really want some more low end torque,
What are some advantages/ disadvantages to swapping a 3.2 motor with the 3.0 other than the fact they are hard to find w/ low miles...
I'm wanting to supercharge, (if I keep the J30 or swap J32) either way, unless gas prices get outta hand...
I figure 230-240 HP with Comptech supercharged J30...
...and 290-300 HP with Comptech supercharged J32...
(tell me if I'm wrong)
Then maybe a stand-alone ECU to boost the HP a bit more...?
What tranny would I get if I wanted a manual?
This may sound stupid but, Is any of this recommended for daily driver?
Thanks for imput...
What about an Accord SIR motor? Im willing to drop from V6 to 4cyl...

Please tell me if you think I'm an idiot (it happens) :donno:

More than 230-240hp with Comptech supercharger on J30A1. If you want manual only thing you can do is swap in the 6 speed from CL-S, a lot of money it is though.
Get a tranny cooler and pray that the transmission holds up to all that power....

What I was thinking was, for the price of the CL tranny, I could pick up a type-r motor (F20B) WITH a 5 speed (I also have high miles on my J30). Sure, I would lose alot of torque, but I've learned it's alot cheaper in the long run, (as far as modding goes), and with the gas prices the way they are, I'd prefer a 4cyl with 5 speed.
This place I was looking at had F20B's for $2995 w/ free shipping...
This is what you get:
Motor, tranny, wire harnesses, all cables, ECU, distributer, throttle body, injectors, fuel rail, inatake manifold and exhaust manifold, alternator, AC, power steering pump, all brackets, all sensors, and midshaft...
As far as specs, this is what I found:
J30 -200hp, 198tq, 9.4 compression, redline 6250
F20B -215hp, 145tq, 11.0 compression, redline 8200
Is 11.0 compression too high to run turbo?

yes, yes it is
you'll run into similar problems as when boosting h22

yeah, I realized, cause the H22 has a high compression too. I'll just stick with CL tranny, because losing torque is the opposite of what I want to do... then save up for the J32... thanks for your input
Where's a good place to find tranny's online? Or how do I find one?

I have no idea where you can go on about finding a 6 speed transmission for CL. I say check the forums or local junkyard, they are pretty rare.

I dont think that spending $3g's on an engine swap is something to do to save money on gas. I have an av6 with an F23A4, after i/h/e i still prob wont have the hp/tq that you have stock with a J30.
If I was you I would put that $3g's towards buying a v-6, 6 speed accord.

so you swapped a J30 for a F23?
NVM anything I said. I've decided to get CL Tranny with stick and a supercharger down the road...

no, i am saying that even with basic bolt-ons a 4 cyl. still has lower hp/tq than a stock 6 cyl. accord.
So even after I mod my 4 cyl. accord, your car stock will still be faster.
When I said that I have an av6, I was saying that I have a 6th generation accord, the same body style as you do.

Really? I figured it would be close. I only have the intake so far, what numbers should I expect after the H&E?

More reason to get my headers and a 5 speed...

Maybe around 170-175hp? I'm guessing. The reason 5 speed owns the 4 speed auto on the J30 is because of better gearing, plus the automatic on a 6th gen sucks more than any other automatic transmission Honda made. I'm never buying automatic Honda car ever again.
