What do you all feel is the best street car to buy and fix up that's $20k or less, and why?

i would say the new Neon SRT4 cause of turbo but they are so damn uncomfortable and small inside. My pic would be new Civic Si, thats probably going to my next car after Accord, Base Retail Price (MSRP) $19,070.

if you got 20 grand drop it into your accord.. i gurantee you would have a bad ass street car... and if not the 97-new preludes are bad ass.... i love em... probably more than the newer accords.... so yeah thats my opinion.. plus already come with an h23 ;-)

20 grand in your accord wouldn't piss on an SRT-4, it'd eat it through the intake and shit it out the muffler

hmmmm i drove a 1980 944 turbo porsche with 14k on it i was gaga over driving it but that damn thing is always in our shop for little issue. i spoke with the onwer and he says there were only 500 models of the 944 turbo he bought new made in 1980 and only 20 in the color here chose. once you got the thing past 3k it hauled ass i must admit and for a 1980 it was damn faster then any car i drove from that era and its all stock. p.s the stock boost gauge is wrong max boost it 12psi on the dash, we were curious what was it doing it was putting out 16 psi at max boost we were all shocked at that one. oh yeah we gave him a 4.5k bill when were done fixing all the things wrong with it

Ive always wanted an RX-7, I think that was the first car I wanted to bone when I was 14. To bad unless you dump all your money into them youll blow them up and stuff, even after you dump all your money into them theyll still blow up.

89 CRX shoot you can buy one for like $200. You don't need everything in the car. You are going to strip it out anywayz. So shoot you are going to swap engines with H22 damn you are going to hall ass, Gauges, seats, axle, tires. Almost everything in the car except for the frame and the body. shoot with 20 g's damn you are going to have one fast CRX.

But shit the car I always wanted it was an FC 91 or a 93 FD shoot RX 7 kick ass. I have a friend who drives a Miata with a 10B motor in it. Its a 10 second car. Everything in the car is RX 7 except for the body and frame.

i've decided to stop dicking around, no more plans for engine swap, I'm gonna sell the accord, getting a 97-01 base prelude, and dumping my money into that. By dumping, I mean a rebuilt engine/tranny and 400 crank horsepower. That'll prolly be how my 20,000 dollars is spent.

Im really partial towards Accords..preferably the 5th gens..6th gens can be dope in my opinion too heh. I think these cars are really versatile, they can look good as a sporty car or as a luxury car. I love their style so much im buying another 94' or 95'. Anyways, i think Hondas and Acuras have the greatest low-cost upgrade pontential.
