This question has been bothering me for a while. I know that the 98 has H22a, but i was looking at a pic of the engine and it looks alot like the K20 found in the integra. Heres the link check it out for youre selfs. http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/accord_euro-r.asp

yep, k-series...obviously bigger than the teg's.....most likely same displacement as mine.....i'm surprised though, it only weighs around 50 kg's more than mine!.....we hav the 2.4 s type here....nice car with the 6 spd box....and very luxurious .....just not the same as a type r though!(dynamics?)..plus its a bit longer as wel(on a small island-believe me it makes a diff!)....very happy with mine-outa the box!

k20 is not enough power to move that car..the k24 puts out torque

i read the new honda tuning and it says that the euro accord is powered by the k20 so you are right but the tsx here is the k24 so im giving credit where credit is due..sorry about that!

of course..well it just seemed weird how they would put a k20 in the japanese model and put a bigger motor in the american version

Euro R is still faster, even though it has smaller displacement. TSX is just too heavy, its like high 15s, low 16s car...

Yeah, i was really disappointed after looking at the TSX reviews. That's what got me to be interested in the CL 3.0 & 3.2

i was readin this from another forum and someone said this.....

K-series is the engine of today...b-series and h-series (isn't that the h22a's family? Sounds weird to me, lol) is the engine of yesterday...
Put a Type R ECU (more aggressive fuel and ignition map) and properly sized i/h/c/e, and tuning, and the Type S engine out of the RSX is hitting 240 hp with ease...those engines respond remarkably to simple bolt ons...

i wanted to know what you guys had to say about this...i don't know i juss posted here cuz it seemed like it fit tha topic =D

I agree. K series is the future for Honda right now. Everything else is getting old, it might still be good, but its getting old.

All you had to do was check Honda.co.jp .. it is in fact a K20a DOHC i-VTEC .. something like the F20b i guess (less liters more pep ..)
