speed limiter removal f22a ECU?

i have a 92 accord ex i made mods such as exhaust, aem cold air intake, jet v-force power module, tune up i cannot go over 110mph the cars hits 100 the rpms drop a lil slow the car down then it goes to 110 n rolls back then picks up again this has happened b4 and after the jet v-force i'm guessin there's a speed limiter or governor on the ecu. Does anyone know of what i can do, can i do it myself or do i have to get a chip for the ecu? and does anyone know of any reliable ecu chip sources for my car ? i'm so frustrated with this, thanks for your help.

you might have to get a diferent ecu.. i know my 90 ex doesnt have a speed governor... so i would think your 92 would

dono what the prob is me and 4 of my friends was going 145 in my 92 ex door just the other day nothing was ever done to the comp.

yeah my car has a top speed limiter on it to and i can only go about 110-115, i really wish i could change that does any one know how.

Heh... you guys that top out at 112 mph must have automatics like I do.....they limit at 112mph.....and (most 5-speeds @125 mph) which is a bitch, cuz my 97 civic tops out @ 123 and I've been passed by 4th g accords, once it maxes.....wish I could afford to modify my ecu at least for a temporary fix...

yeah it is an automatic it really sux i'm tryin to find a modified chip for the ecu but the only companies i know that offer one for a '92 accord is jetchip and hondata and they're both between $200-$300, so i'm tryin to research if there are any more chips out there and which is the best. i wish i knew a way to take the limiter program or whatever it is off.

i have an auotmatic and my speedometer says 130 and ive had it pegged over that for a whil... i mean i had to hit at least 140-145.. never hit a governor and i have done that way more than once... so i dont know... thats one of the diferences with lx and ex.. ex shouldnt have a speed governor...

i have a 92 accord ex 2door automatic n it has to have a governor/limiter because it feels like it has power but it's not allowed to go faster, it really sux i got beat by a saturn because of the damn limiter i was humiliated i had em too arrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhh MUST HAVE CHIP!!! HELP!!!

heh, yah must suck to get beat by a Saturn....lol...I have yet to be..but I agree maybe there is a piggy-back setupout there for pretty cheap....It's just a box that mount's onto your existing ecu.....I guess it probably is like an (external )chip modifier...Never priced them or used em....

yeah usually ill get people off the line and only race to about 100 or so but i feel power actually kick in again about 110 too so if a guy has me or we are running even i usually take them after that.. actually i havent been beat when a race went over 100....

I have a 91 Accord EX auto and I don't top out until 120-125 mph. my rpms are at 5200-5500 rpm. Maybe on the LX Accords they can't go any faster.

lx and dx has a speed governor at 110 or so... ex's or se's dont

I have an 91 Accord EX auto stock and I top out around 120-125 mph. Maybe it is because you have an Lx? I don't know just saying. Because my friend has the same car as me just the Lx type. and he tops out before I do. He tops out around 110-115 mph. Maybe the F22A1 tops out around 110-115 mph. and the EX F22A4 or the F22A6 tops out higher because they have more hp. I don't know if it true or not. But I think that is what is happening.

Yah my lx auto, still has plenty of hp to go well beyond the governed 112 mph.....cuz it hits then drops to 109 then about in 1 second intervals hits and drops..hits and drops,,,and so on...till I get pissed and slow down....

yeh that's the same exact thing that happens to me except it's an 92 ex auto, i'm pretty damn sure it's a f22a6, that supposedly has 140hp stock maybe the ecu was switched b4 i bought it? i think the person who owned b4 me worked for the government if that could have anything to do with it. do u think a jet chip would work b/c they say they have to solder in an external chip into the ecu then program it, i just wish i knew someone smart enough or with the equipment to just get rid of the damn speed limiter i know the powers there. guess i'll end up spending $250 to c what happens. if anyone has had there accord chipped let me know what happened.

I have an EX i serin speed but i know i can go over 140mph which is where mine speedometor stop but o can tell it gose faster then 140mph

i have '92 accord lx 2dr MT... and i bought the Field SFC HYPER-R fuel controller... it got rid of my speed limiter... after i took it to the shop to get it tuned to my car(advise i got from this forum thanks guys)... i hit the road going 153mph... could have gone faster but i ran out of road... it also added some power that i was able to feel throughout the rpm range... so if you guys wanna go this route to remove the speed limiter this is a good way... just make sure you have it installed and tuned professionally to your car...

removed power steering
lightened it
dropped it 1.8"

changed every fluid and cleaned filters the day I tested my top speed
the *meter* barely made it to 130 took about 30 sec to go from 120 to 130 on flat land with maybe a little wind. How did u get to have a stock accord going 145 with 4 people in there? or maybe it s not stock?

For ur limiter, u should try and put a ex or se ECU instead

I heard if you get the EX speed senor and put it on the LX tranny. It might take off the speed limiter. On my EX accord I coundn't go any faster than 120 mph. When my speed senor broke. I changed it and got my car tested to see if my tach was working right. After that I started passing 130 mph on my car. I guess it move my speed limiter.
