man, i say that anyone who would ask you to pay more then 50 bucks, is asking too much. the bolts and the gasket are almost more expensive then the actual labor cost.

if you pay more than 0 bucs its a rip off, this is easier than an intake do it yourself.

well i wouldnt say it easier than an intake.....those bolts get rusted and stuck like hell.....if you do it urself...my advice it spray all tthe bolts w/ penetrating lube and let it sit for about 45mins-an hour spraying every once in a while in between.....u dont want to break off those bolts...
id say...a garage would probly charge for 1-1.5hrs of work....cuz theyhave to have it on a lift and getting the stock header off is a pain in the ass....putting ur new one on and bolted down only takes like 10mins.....but the other time is spent on break the old one loose
im not gunna do it myself....most shops are $75 an hour x 1.5 = over $100 damn...any southern cali cats who would do it, and have done it before, holla at me I'll pay ya...1

i just spent the last two hours outside, in the 20 degree weather putting on a header in my friends accord. most the bolts came off fine with penetrating oil, but we still had one break on us. we can drill it out, but i wish he had taken it to the shop to have the header put on. now we have to walk to work in the morning in the snow...
uppin...any lakewood, anaheim, orange county cats lookin to make some extra dough holla at me...

When I took out my motor to do h22 swap, I took off old header for more room, and I didnt use any sprays, and I didnt have any break off on me. The only thing I broke was two Craftsman ratchets, on the same F*ing motor mount bolt....Hey man if you have tools at you house, it's really not that hard, and you could save some money and buy another part....Theres only one way to learn if youre trying to learn on you own....JUST DO IT....If you need some help on some steps just ask....
i live in a shitty apartment, not exactly suburban with a nice garage and dads tools....so offer stands, anyone lookin to make some dough, holla at me

i was wondering, is a header bolt more likely to snap when its cold or hot?

i have mechanix glaves and stuff like that, im planning on installing my own header as well as was just wondering if it would be better to spray on some penetrating lube, let it come to normal op. temp spray some more lube on and then give it a go or just spray the stuff on and wait some time when its cold?

well, id say its probly safer to do it when the header is cold(when engine hasnt been running) in case u slip and brush a knuckle....u dont wanna burn it.....just use the penetrating lube liberally on the bolts and allow it time to do its job and you should be fine.....if not....the use of a mini torch might help get the bolt loose....and if you happen to strip the bolt...craftsman has a damn good stripped bolt remover set....only thing is that it $20 for a 5pc set....but works excellently
