I'm thinking of getting a new alarm system. Right now the alarm I have is CodeAlarm. The alarm the local shop has is Autopage, is this alarm any good?

Anything better out there?

anything by Directed is decent, but try to reach for at least the mid to higher models. Entry level is practically same as stock. Had 5 different alarms, and the clifford w/ pager is pretty good.

Yeah, I can vouche for Clifford. I had their Taser series back in 2000-2002 and that shit was pretty advanced for its time. Now Clifford has a upgraded new series called Intelliguard. The one I want to get is like $400, with Clifford you definately get what you pay for.

I like my alarm sounds in stealth-mode, not too flashy. I took the Clifford pager alarm off the totalled Accord, but might have to upgrade, maybe some shaved doorhandles or something also. Right now I have 2 alarms going on in my present car. I think the owner has copies of the key and alarm remotes, so Im gonna have to anyways. $400 is the price I paid the pager alarm, so its a decent price.

Its just a lcd screen telling what part of the alarm was set-off, and it has a 2 mile range from the car. It has a lil' antenna display telling you if your out of range. You don't have to pay monthly. Its included in the alarm system. The only negative is that you have to change the battery of the remote every so often. I only had mine for a month before it started to die, I guess cuz its a 24/7 monitoring thing. Its pretty cool, and I hope its possible to install it again on my car, cuz $400 could be used towards a turbo kit, or 17" tires.

The Autopage alarm at the shop cost $350. It has remote start which is cool. It has some cool features on it.

Has anyone heard of Autopage?

names like Viper, Clifford, Python, Avital, etc. few others are all made by the same manufacturer, Directed Inc. they all basically do all the same things, just different packaging. so really, when you buy any of their products, you get what you pay for. just trying to be unbiased about it.
