Does anyone know how i can separate the housing and lense piece on my lenses? I'm tired as hell of having sidemarkers fog up or headlights, so i wanna lay down a real thick silicone seal around the edge so they will not leak at all. I read somewhere about using a heat gun to crack the factory seal job but i'm not positive. Anyone have info on busting into the lenses?

why not just seal it around the factory seal? the other place you might be having a problem is right around the bulb.

I had one side marker that always fogged up, i ended up getting as much water out as possible by using a hair dryer for about a half hour,t hen put thes ilicone around the edges, worked fine.

i think what everyone does to open em up is bake them i the oven on a baking tray covered in aluminum foil on 300* for about 10 minutes to soften the silicone without melting the plastic and pries it open with a knife

is it possible to soften the silicone enough to pry it open without warping the lense? That's prolly why i think i read about the heat gun technique because all of the heat is focused on just the sealing point and not so much on the lense. I know that more people have dealt with this, so anyone else wanna throw in their 2 cents?

just do what anasowner said put it in the oven it will work fine just keep checking it until the seal melts, will melt before the lense warps or just use the heat gun its up to u

Did this work out for you AccordTunr? One of my tail lights are dirty on the inside and I need to take the outside plastic off but it's being a bitch... there are little snap things I suppose I can try prying open but I'm afraid I'll break the plastic

my friend has a 92 Z and you noe that the taillights have an orange signal.. he got some white or clear lense of ebay and ihelped him installed them.. well i did most of the werk.. i didnt like the idea of using the oven.. so we used blow dryers... like 2 or 3.. and heated up the seals and ripped apart the housing apart... but it took like half an hour to one hr to get them hot and start melting... but the bad thing is it broke two of the dryers cuz we used it so along lol.. all well not my dryers.. i tink u said soemhting bout a heat gun.. i would try that first then using an oven.. i seen soem pic of the oven deal and it melted the pastic and shiz... so good luck

Yeah i'm definetly more comfortable using the heat gun rather than the oven. I just gotta save up the cash to buy one now lol...
