There seems to be a good amount of people putting in the 98-99 CL cluster into the 5th gen accord. I have reverse style gauges in my car now and I am thinking about taking out my cluster and putting a CL one in for a different look. There has been a few that did the lude cluster swap which looks hot but takes some fabbing. Here is a pic of what the cluster looks like, it's very similar but has different style numbers and red needles http://images.cardomain.com/member_images/1/web/457000-457999/457634_5.jpg

yeah, that's one thing I noticed when I test drove a 98 CL last Saturday. I also seen a few Accords here with CL cluster. Don't you like the indiglo gauges? I kind of like them better than the stock CL's tho'.

I do like my gauges now, the only thing is i got alittle super glue on one of them and tried everything to get it off, and I can't see the needles at night. I will take a pic 2m to show you what i'm talking about and tell me what you think I should do. I need opinions on what I should do, thanks.

You did them yourself? Wow. I was thinking about it, but later realized that one screw up could mean disaster. I had them installed professionally for $50 by a shop I regularly went to. The needle was the main reason I didn't do it. I heard of a lot of people messing it up. Can't wait to see the pics.

I did do them myself. If you look near the RPM gauge near the bottom you can see some glue marks, the reason I used the glue in the first place was cause the faces were having a hard time sticking. You can see a pic here, http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=2134494617

Damn! That's one clean ass engine bay too.
As for the gauges, looks good, and I can hardly tell. Good job on it.

I am thinking about either swapping out the whole cluster with either a CL or jdm with one that redlines at 7200 for when the h22 goes in. I should prolly just keep the ones I have tho.

I would just get the h22 one, since your going to do the swap anyways. The CL 's redline is a lower than it, I believe it's like 6200 or 6500 w/ the 3.0 or something. Its looks good tho' w/ the numbers a lil' different text.

Yeah i'll go jdm, now the hard part is finding one that redlines at 7200.

I know I am bringin this thread back from the dead, but I ordered the cl cluster tonight and it should be here within a week. I will take a few pics when it is done and of the install, even tho it is plug and play. I go tired of my reverse gauges being a pain in the ass.

Yah, where are you getting the cluster from? I think Im change my boring stock black ones. I had indiglo gauges in my other accord and Im still used that old one even after driving this car for like 6 months. Its like once you go aftermarket, you never go back. lol...

Awww man if you think those look good you would love my gauges. Mine is a 1 of a kind (I think). Its 3-D. It's kind of hard to explain but during the day its like see through.....like you can see all the little gears and bolts...and at night its all 3-D with yellow leds shinning every where.......its really fucking nice. I will tell my bitch to take a picture of it :bounce:

I bought the cluster from ebay, it is on its way now, should be here within a week. I just decided to go back to a oem look cause my reverse gauges were whacked out and would work when they wanted to and I tried finding the problem a million times but never found anything wrong with them. So I just got fed up with it and ordered the cl cluster. The number text is alittle different then the stock accords and the needles are red. So it still has a oemish look but it is different. I will take plenty of pics.

The swap is done, I did it this morning and finished in about an hour. I had a little bit of wiring to do from what was left of my old reverse gauges faces from the old cluster. I finished that, then I used the black part and clear cover from my accord cluster and put it on the cl cluster, cause the cl dosen't have mounting holes on the sides. On the cl i took off the two metal brackets on the top. With a little finesse I got it in, clipped in the three wire sockets put everything back togther and thats basically it. It took me a little longer cause of I had to do some wiring. But it is basically like take out your accord cluster and putting it back in with a few extra steps. I took it for a drive, everything works. I will try to remember to take a pic of it at night. Here is some pics http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=2115841143

Man that looks very nice . I'm kinda nervous about opening up my dash. Sometimes I don't know my own strength. I'll definately hit you up after I buy mine.
