Hey everyone this is my first time using a forum but I am going to lose my mind over this problem I am having over my 98 accord v6 ex. I recently installed a new aftermarket cd/mp3 player using a wiring harness taking the guess work out of the wiring. Everything worked fine except my dash lights. All the other lights work fine except my dash lights. It also seems weird that the odometer and climate control lights are bright when the lights are off then go dark when I turn the lights on. I have checked the fuses, the wiring to the new CD player, everything I could think of. I even unplugged the new CD player and plugged in the stock radio but it didn't make a difference. I am spending way too much time trying to figure this out and less time hooking up my new rockford fosgate amp and 2 10" subs like I want to be doing right now. Any suggestions on things I could try to get my dash lights working again would be greatly appreciated.

I SMELL A SHORT...
EITHER THAT, probably not what happened....not sure its possible on that specific piece but i knows it possible, in electronics
maybe could reversed the polarity??? making the wire hook ups different......BUT THAT PROBABLY AINT IT. check ur fuses, also make sure wires aint crossed up some where, thats what it sounds like to me....
sounds to me, 1. fuse blew 2. wires crossed somewhere, electronics can be very tricky.

Hey thank you so much for responding to my problem. I'll take a look at it again tomorrow because I think you might be onto something about wires being crossed. If I had the repair manual for my car that I'm still waiting for to come in the mail it would be a lot easier to locate the right wires but that is the only thing I haven't explored yet. I'll keep you updated and let you know if that fixes it. Thanks again!
