well i currently have a 95 ex as u can see from my avatar and this is the secound time in less than 2 years i get warped rotors. Well the first time that i fixed the problem they told me it was because i wet the rotors when they were hot but i now this time that is not the problem because i been careful about it any suggestions. thanks

when u changed the rotors, did u change or didn't change any other parts for the brakes like pads, bearings, hub, etc? ur supposed to replace ur pads when u change ur rotors at the same time. I was also told that having a tire size 3% or more smaller than your stockers can damage your brakes. What kind of rotors do u have?

here is one tip , don't beat on them one. two honda pads warp rotors. ive used honda pads, raybestos, wagner, and other big name companys they all warp rotors. the only combo i have not warped yet is ebc rotors and green stuff pads. ive had them on since oct and ive beaten the shit out of them i drive alot at high speeds as well and i have tried to mess them up and nothing so far.... also alot of stop and go will kill rotors and pads... not breaking new pads and rotors in will do the same

I hate when people say that - brake rotors are 2 layers of 1/4" steel with a serious steel "ventilation" skeleton between them. They're made of heat treated steel made to withstand upwards of 1000*. Spraying water on them isn't going to do anything except instantly vaporize the water. Think of a blacksmith - he heats steel to a red hot glow, and submerges it in water, and it maintains its shape. Warped rotors are caused by excessive heat, which is caused by severe braking over a long period of time. Same thing with the blacksmith - if he heats it up enough, it becomes plyable, and can change it's shape - just like your rotors. So don't ride your brakes, and don't race between stop lights, like on Meet the Parents. Its not good for your rotors. Think of it this way - with cold rotors, after one 100ft stop, you've already increased the rotor temperature to somewhere around 200-300*. That's not going to compound everytime you hit the brakes, but there is a lot of friction that causes a lot of heat - just remember that, and you'll be keeping track of how many times you slam on the brakes. If you're not slamming on the brakes, then your rotors aren't warped - check your alignment - symptoms of alignment problems can be the same as rotor problems. If your toe is misaligned, you'll get a lot of vibration when you brake. Hope this helped a little.

light braking for like 2 days will be fine. You wanna gradually temper them and slowly raise them to operating temp maybe 5 or 6 times from cold rotors. Then you should be good to go. I'm not 100% sure, so ask around, but it sounds reasonable to me. Just don't slam on your brakes for a week...or ever if you can help it.

driving like 20 miles light brakin should b good then i think around 200-500miles they should b broken in good so then u can do heavy breakin w/o problems

I think one good high way run with you being hardcore on the brakes could pretty much warp any OEM rotors .. new or not .. you gotta try to use the engine a little bit if your manual .. and have to start light on the breaks, then progressively put more pressure as you slow down .. to prevent warping ... :cowboy:

I get a tad bit of shaking when i brake, i think i might have my alignment checked. what are some signs of them being warped?

mine have a slight lip on the inboard side of the rotors (facing inwards to the car), i dont think its bad enough to change just yet. especially when im about to change the pads.

warped rotors usually have a weird vibrating/pulsating feeling, and when your not really stopping as good as you should

thank you for posting what we already know...
anyways, thank you 95vtec for explaining that. as i read down i was thinking, please god let someone else type it all up so i dont have to.
if you are hard on your brakes a lot, they are going to warp, they are not great brakes to begin with. if you beat them they will break, deal with it and stop asking "why are my rotors warped" when you beat the hell out of them. they aren't ment to withstand beatings, its an economy car, not a race car. if you wanna race it, get rotors pads calipers and lines. if not, stop complaining about breaking your car when its your own fault
