I went to some local place today and they use Directed electronics inc. which is the company who makes Viper and all the other good companies. guy said, its not a problem, and to make it work u just gotta set the e-brake, and not have it in gear. which what i do all the time anyway. he said it wont work it its in gear, or the ebrake isnt on. guess i just answered my own question. (self-highfive) oh and its legal.

yea i did notice that last night...but thats what the guy at my local shop told me. while they are intended for automatic transmissions, im pretty sure they can function in manuals as well. just a little extra work perhaps. ill have to get back to you on this...

umm.. so u staying it will not start if its in gear or if ebrakes not set.. thats somewhat true.. to wat i knoe.. only way its not gonna start if the ebrakes not set.. cuz the alarm can tap in and knoe if its set or not.. but to knoe that its in gear or not.. is not possible.. and only in reverse will it noe if its in gear.. but all other gears.. alarm will not knoe.. uless they gona spend alot of money in install all kinds of crap to knoe.. but its possible to install remote start in a manuel.. i dont see wats the diff if ur cars auto or not.. if u can remember to take it out of gear and set ebrake like ur suppose too.. hehe.. den dont get remote start..

maybe your right, but i dunno if i want to take that chance. you know its not in gear, but in the back of your mind, theres that chance. you know it could jump forward ten feet, into a car, traffic, people, a building. does anyone have this? is it worth it? id hate to hold my breath everytime i remotely started my car...

It was installed on my Celica by the previous owner. He kept the Alarm and controls so I never got to use it. Other than since the work was done I could start the car without disengaging the clutch. Its a "Catch 22" if you ask me.

there is a alot that you must do a series of checks in order for you to do a remote start with it, the alarm runs the car for 30 secs after you take the key out and can be programed longer for turbo cars, but since the car runs for that 30 sec or more it will always remind you to take it out of gear cuz you wouldn't want it to stall out or bang into some thing, if the car stalls out from the time it was set for it will not let you use a remote start

theres a swtich under the dash that ingages when you step on the clutch, if you cross those wires together or wire it so that switch is constant, there you go ten you can hae your remote start and also start your car without having to step on the cluth pedal if your car is in neutral, it workd onchevys dont see why it wouldnt work on hondas...

yes you are correct, the new accord i bought came with remote start. push a button wait a few seconds and whammy. push same button and you can shut it off. also like you said, i dont need to push the clutch in to start it. but i do it anyway, feels wierd not to. i havent tried remote starting it in gear tho i guess i should safely somehow. when i first got it. it was parked and shit and i grazed the button on accident, not even thinking. and few seconds later vroom! i was like "... ... ..." i gotta be careful. i almost never use it. just a luxury, maybe for the winter months. cuz i always leave the car in neutral. so when i need to, ill be aight...

what u need to do is under the dash on your clutch pedal you will see a green wire it is attached to the safety swicht which engauge the starter cut both wires and butt connect them togather and you be able to use a remote start system any problem e-mail me at hranger64@bellsouth.net

the safety switch on my clutch is already disabled, and i have remote start on my security system, only it isnt hooked up. im still debating that. if i decide not to use it, i wanna find a way to reactivate the clutch safety switch.
