ok, exhaust is probably the next step in my accord.
i've always heard that dc makes the best headers, until recently there has been some talk about kamikaze headers. which do you guys like and why?

for the cat back, i've been looking at dc's tcs, and apex's ws. i am looking for a pretty quiet cat back set up, but also looking to gain some power. i have heard nothing but good things about the tcs, except that it's $200 more than the apex. again, what's up?

not exactly sure of headers and which is the best.....iv heard nly good about DC....for some reason i thought kamikazes header was a 4-1 which is not the most ideal for a basic setup on a daily driven accord....id go w/ DC anyway tho

for catbacks....the power gains are all very similar....i would not say a noticeable difference between brands but.....as far as sound goes...heres what iv gathered over a lil while

loudest(1) to most quiet(4)

1) DC system
2) Apexi
3) Greddy SP
4) custom 2.25" w/ RSX Type S muffler

w/ the rsx setup, i would say ull probly get a little less horsespower, but not very noticeable.....and a very very quiet performance gain(this is the setup i am going w/ when the money arrives for it...well....this or the Greddy)

i don't know if this is what you were talking about, but i was looking at the DC twin canister system. it apperently meets the 95 dB sound requirement. i thought it was available, but i was just on dc's website, and they don't say they make it.

I had ractive stainless 4-2-1 header and RS*R catback without the muffler. I heard those RS*R are quiet but I haven't installed em yet. So I can't tell U anything bout it. I'm looking for the muffler now. I love the Genuine Remus, but they're too expensive. I found this Supertrapp muffler. Are they good? All I know is they make good exhaust for motorcycle. And those silencers are tunable, so U can adjust how loud do U want. Anybody has experience with this muffler?

I have both the DC 4-2-1 ceramic 2 piece header
and also the greddy EVO cat-back on my 97 LX.
I really am glad i went with that setup.
DC headers have a very sturdy design and they
also include a harness for the o2 sensor.
Some header manufactures dont even have the hole for the 02.
And the greedy EVO is awesome. It looks like it will survive the life of the car.
It is built exellent. It looks really cool too.
With this setup my car is very quiet, then after 3500rpms it has a really nice
low tone growl. I could not be happier with any other setup.
Although there is a company called bisimoto that makes custom headers.
I here they really put out some crazy numbers. You are going to pay for it though, and the turn around time to have them made is pretty long.

I've got custom 2.5in exhaust pipes with the Mugen muffler which has the special silencer which allows you to gain the most horsepower but still keep it pretty quiet.

I have a custom 2.25 from the catback with the ractive mt602B muffler with removable silencer, it sounds pretty loud with the silencer out but with it in, it's not much louder than stock with still a noticeable HP gain

to me all of those cat-backs are basically the same when it comes to hp, but sound is definitely a difference whether you want it loud or low. I had a apex n-1 and it sounded like a demon screaming. It sure turned a lot of heads, but now i changed it to a 3 1/2" dual dtm exhaust, and its pretty decent. Its lower also. But if u want the efficient, then get the cat-back instead of custom piping. those were basically designed for your car with minimal bending and exact measurements. when its a bolt-on then its the way to go.

As for headers, i have the focuz draggers. It helped me gain some assloads of torque. The only con is that they're stainless steel(not the way to go)if you want nice-looking engine bay. they really get hot. Whichever headers u get, ceramic-coated is the way to go. The finish lasts longer, and get those header-wraps cuz it helps with the heat-retention and u will get more hp. believe me, i have them. it does make a difference. Headers really really get hot. WRAPS.

if ur lookin for a sick quiet cat back, go with the Mugen twin loop, the shit is fuckin sick, expensive though, $900 for a full cat $600 for axle back. Its sick though definetly worth the money.

I'd go with graphix's setup. The Evo amd the DC 4-2-1. My buddy has this setup on his 99 and it's great. I'll be doing mine soon enough.
