Was My Engine Swapped Previousely?

I was wondering, what engine comes with a stock 1996 Honda Accord LX? Because the engine I have isn't a SOHC or a DOHC, it just says "2.2 Liter 16 valve" But when I look online for the specs on this engine, the 96 LX Accords that come up are all either SOHC or DOHC. Anyone know anything about this?

just cuz the valve cover doesn't say sohc or dohc does mean anything. go look at your motor and look at see where its bolted to the tranny right nest the the exhaust manifold, it will probaly be dirty there will be a engine stamp saying f22b2 or what ever the motor is. take your time and when you see it you will know.. take your time its very easy to miss the f22 stamp cuz its kinda small

Hmm, interesting. Damn that's cool to know I have an SOHC or at least something! I know I don't have a DOHC tho. I always thought that the SOHC/DOHC engines were how the recent DOHC ones looked liked. Does anyone know of a site that will show the specs on my engine? I know I still have to take a look at it to see what engine it is. It's 12:31am here so I'm going to check it out tomorrow.

ask Danieal (theFirstNutZo) to tell you what the stock engin was but im sure its a F22b something becouse an H22\H23 B16 they will say DHOC across there cover

a 96lx should be a sohc f22b2 with a odb2 electrical system
