my car, well is nothing speacial right now... a very short custom intake. (runs about 10" from the throttle body)..
my plans are to completly rebuild a new car now... i dont think im going to put any more cash into this one... this car was my guinepig, so now i know what to do an what not to do on the next one...
when i get my next accord (after i sell this one off) im going to be swapping out the intire engin with a new in crate h22 brand new... 0 miles on it, but befor it goes into the car, it will be going under intense heart surgery.... im going to be doing the hole 9 yards with it... (in other words full race engin, an maybe go turbo as well).... but we will have to wait an see what the future has in store though... plans always change, an so do the laws around here....

twistedframe: man, u gotta a lot of mods. can u tell me if how did the jet ecu do?
I was thinking about it, but a little perplexed. I wanted do the obd1 conversion, and then do the jet ecu upgrade. u can all see all of the mods i did up in the previous reply. what do u think? $250-300 is a lot of money to spend for me right now.

Well, it is pretty good for being what it is; a pretuned ecu that they are only adjusting the open loop fuel curves and advancing the timing a bit... The first time I got it was when I was sitting skinny on the mods and I noticed a HUGE increase! WAY more torque and a completly new acceleration curve : )) It was groovy.
I had to get a new one becuase I shorted the first one out by shearing the O2 sensor wires in half and touching the frame :( Another $300 -I hate having to buy the same shit twice! -This time I can also feel a difference, but not as much. But now I have 60% more mods, and major internal engine work.
I would say go for it and try it out. I mean when you first go out and try it, it scares ya. Your engine has never spooled up as quick as what it will after reprogramming it !!
Of course, Bill Gude thinks they are shit, so you may want to contact him and get a quote.. His are most likely better. http://www.gude.com -This is the place where I got my headwork done.
-And OBD1 would be better perhaps because it won't correct itself if you want to advance timing even more afterwards. Some one needs to try this and let me know if OBDII actually changes the timing back after you set it. -to adjust your timing http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/timing/timing.php

I started with the suspension:
Tokico Illumina struts
Eibach Pro-kit springs
ST sway bars
Ingalls camber kit
17" Konig Tantrums with 205/45/17 Yokohama Parada Spec 2's.
I thought about doing the manual swap, but this car was going to stay a DD. I decided to rebuild the auto, but installed the "Level 10" clutch pack so it would handle anything that I decided to do with the engine.
Then came the engine mods:
Injen intake
Gude TB
Port matched IM
Port Flow head
Ferrea valvetrain
Web cam
AEM cam gear
Wiseco 11:1 forged pistons
Crower Billet rods
balanced and blueprinted rotating assembly
Knology ignition
DC SS header
test pipe
Greddy EVO exhaust
The next step was to upgrade the fuel system and do some tuning. Unfortunately, 800 miles into the break in period, the POS Gude TB decides to eject one of the throttle plate screws into the engine, I drop a cylinder, and have to start all over. Don't even get me started on GUDE. They didn't loctite or peen the threads on the throttle plate screws and they vibrated loose. GUDE SUCKS!!!
By the time I got everything back together, I'd spent all the money I had put back for the fuel upgrades and tuning. I needed more fuel, so I installed an AEM FPR and B&M guage and bumped the fuel pressure up enough to cover the difference. The car didn't run like it should have, but that was all I could do at the time.
Move forward about a year and I'm finally completing the project. The higher fuel pressure ended up killing the stock injectors, so I really didn't have a choice.
Fuel system upgrades:
Walboro 255 LPH fuel pump
new fuel filter
AEM fuel rail
RC 320 injectors
I'm headed to P1 racing week after next for an SAFC II install and some dyno time. Wish me luck.

It's a friggin' Honda Accord. Without a lot of money and time, it's not going to be some sort of street demon. I'm only in high school, so having a 10 second car is pretty much out of my financial reach.

you heard the saying.. things wear and tear.. rite.. and things dont last forever..
people who do mods to their cars coz they wanna or maybe its a hobby and an expensive onetoo haha u guys knoe what i am tlaking bout.. .. mods will increase power.. but basic bolt ons.. wont get u mad power to where u will really notice unless u knoe ur car.. just adding an intake and little stuff like that .. will add up over time.. and in the end you add more hp/torque to ur car..
the reason why i have mods is because my car is old and things wear.. and when they do.. i replace it will better and brand name performance parts.. and some stuff i did cuz i watned to haha.. when my tires go bad.. i get better ones.. when i needed a new filter for my stock intake.. i replaced it.. with aem and it can be cleaned.. header cuz they are all rusted up and looks ugly.. bushings cuz the stock ones a riped.. clutch with act cuz mine was slipping.. most of hte stuff i added was really just a replacement for stuff that iwas gonna replace anyways.. might as well go with better stuff ..and pay a little more and sometimes less..
want ur motor to last long ..and scared of it messing up.. then dont do any mods.. simple as that

Hey Twistedframe,
I noticed that you have the Helix 1" Throttle Body Spacer on your car.
Was wondering if you noticed any difference in your car's response and handling......horsepower and torque increase and gas mileage?....I'm more concerned about gas mileage since I do alot of highway driving. If there is any horsepower increase....I would assume its alittle....maybe 2-4 horsepower increase. Did you notice any increase in power?
Also, when you installed it.....I would assume that you had to cut off some of your CAI intake piping to make it fit....since the spacer causes the throttle body to stick out about an inch more........which would have caused problems with your CAI fitting down towards your bumper......
Thanks

I was going to ask that as well.
This is the best thing about this forum - all the mods have been tried by collectively someone here, and you can get info from the people using them and not from some cheesy ad or web site.
Also, there's a few in here that've gone the pulleys for the alternator and power steering - how do you find them? I know that the more mods you do, the less power you actually get (law of diminishing returns), so with all the other mods you've done, are the pulleys worthwhile?
My mods:
Champion Gold plugs
K&N panel filter in modified stock airbox w/ cold air intake
custom headers
custom 2.25" cat-back and muffler
PowerChip 98-RON ECU
adjusted throttle cable (basically does what a type R Throttle Rotor does)
Pedders lowered coils
Koni Yellow adjustables
Whiteline rear anti-sway bar
18" Lenso Muse rims in bronze w/ Falken 215/35/18s
Pioneer DEXP - 88R hi-volt pre-amp head unit w/ steering wheel remote
Pioneer CDXP 2000 12 stacker
Alpine Type R 6 1/2 " 2 ways front, Pioneer 6x9" in parcel shelf
Alpine MRF-401 4 channel amp for speakers, MRT 707 amp for sub
Alpine Type R 12" sub in custom enclosure
Sound deadener in trunk and both front doors (used Brown Bread deading)
clear corners and sides
colour coded body strips and OEM body kit
meshed front bar
FUTURE MODS:
maybe pulleys
exhaust wrap
sound deadening matting in engine bay

So i have ordered a few new toys to install this weekend.
Fuel Rail, Fuel Filter, and Pressure Regulator.
I think i will install the rail, and the filter and
wait on the regulator until i get a s-afc2 unit and have
it tuned by someone who knows what they are
doing. I guess a few members said that you can
damage a lot of internal engine parts with
too low or too high of fuel pressure. Also i need
a break before im hit with a barrage of CEL's!
Gotta Love OBD2!!!!

Hey 5peedcoupe,
I notice you've got the MSD ignition upgrades too. Did you find them worthwhile? You got the distributor cap and everything - I was only looking at improving the spark, so do I need to go for all that you've got, or just the coil? I don't want to ask the actual seller cos' they're obviously going to say I need the whole lot...

nice... I always wanted one of those, especially the one with mean eyes, S14. I would have still kept my Accord, but I always wanted to tune a 240 on the side.

it prob did something.. cuz it would makethe air go in differently.. i dont knoe what miles i got before but now i get bout 250-400+ miles with all the mods with 14 gallons... tank is really 17 but lite comes on around 3 gallons left.. the OBX was alot cheaper than the Helix one and looks anddoes the same thing.. also i am pretty sure this mod will help with highway driving most.. stop and go burns lots of gass cuz air will no travel the same..

THe msd helps at higher RPMs.. since at higher RPMs u need quicker faster sparks and MSD helps with that.. also when i turn on the A/C at a dead stop/idle.. car used to shake.. now itdoesnt after the MSD set up

Ok, now in different posts I've heard claims of top speed limiters being set at 115, 118, 120, and 123. I personally have had my accord to 125mph and it still had a little left( I think but ran outta room) so what gives?I know theres a rev limiter but I have yet to find a top speed governor!
