Weird things have been happening to my car. Lately it has been vibrating pretty hard, but not too violent. Ever since i bought it (last year), my 97 Accord SE has had this vibration and it might not be normal. My bro also has a 97 Accord LX (same F22b2 engine) and it does not vibrate like mine. We both have just about the same miles too (90,021 & 97,015 mine). His car is all stock, and so is mine, except for the fact that i just made a diy hyper ground kit and installed it 5 days ago. It made such a huge difference on my F22. It responds better, quicker, ride is a little quieter, and i noticed a little pull that it didn't have before. Those are the only differences i noticed, but my car still vibrates. So far i've changed all the mounts, changed tranny oil and engine oil, cap and rotor, spark plugs and wires, engine oil filter, took it to the dealer to check my valvetrain, injectors, belts, and timing. They keep saying everything's okay, but i lost my trust on them a long time ago. I can see the vibration from the steering wheel, and feel it on my seat. It sometimes gets a little loud and vibrates harder for a few seconds and goes away (but not completely). And also, it seems like if i feel it more when i'm at a full stop than when i'm moving. I have a new fuel filter just in case that might be the problem (i haven't installed it yet), and i'm also thinking that it might be the belt but it seems perfect to me. Is the vibration normal? Please help me you guys....

when was the last time you had it alligned? also, if the vibration get worse when you are braking, have the rotors cut. but it really doesn't sound like either of those.

it could be your timing belts....

I had the same problem with my 97 lx about a year ago, it would only vibrate when stopped but it turned out to be the power steering, might wanna check the fluid and belt. Did the dealer run a full diagnostic or did they just look it over. I lost faith in dealerships after they almost blew my engine by forgetting the oil drain plug

wow that almost sounds likea comen thing wth the dealers... i know of that happaning to four ppl that took here cars in to get serviced at honda dealers, one of them drove 15 miles before she noticed the temp goin way up... an by then it was to late... honda had to replace the hole intire motor....
as for the rattling, you say that you feel it in the seats as well as the steering wheel right..?? is that only when driving, cause mine was doing that for the longest time, an i had replaced the front tires an had them rebalinced an all... the problem keeped going, but a week latter i had the rear tires done, an the problem seemed to have gone away for good....
how are your tires anyways... have you been doing anything that would cause them to were faster then usaual..(such as pulling the e-brake, driffting) shit like that.... my tires had flat spots on the rear, an so that is what we figured was making it do that...(when i say flat i mean flat..) there was still 50%-65% tred left, except were the fat spots were an the wires were showing..OOOOPPPS :D
last year when i had this simaler problem, it was when i was coming to a stop.... that time it turned out that the rotors that GOOD YEAR had installed were warped beyond recongnition... i made them reinburs me, an i went out an got the EBC slotted an cross drilled rotors... wen fine since then besides the tire thing happened recently... check into those things maybe.. i dunno

Well, to be exact i bought my car in late April 2003 with 85,017 miles (now 97,036). I bought my car in a corner lot, so it's most likely needs attention in the cadegories you guys told me about. I replaced my brake pads right when i bought it, but i forgot to bleed them and take care of my rotors (i'm running with stock front disc and rear drums). Also, my tires are okay and they can handle another 6 months or so (maybe:rolleyes: ), but i haven't had them rotated since i bought my car. And no, i don't drift, burn rubber, or pull my e-brake. I won't ever do that with my stock f22b2 (heavy modded H22, hell yeah:D ). I try to keep my car in one piece here in L.A. So it might well be my belts (if i replace my belts, should i replace my water pump? it still works fine), tires, allignment, and brakes.... hmmmm, tough call for me. So what do you people recommend now that i told you that i bought my car at a used lot?

I replaced my DIY hyper ground clamps (they were thin O rings with the yellow housing) to 1/4 size studs (the O's are a lot thicker), but it seemed that i lost that pull and easy start i was talking about. My layout is from battery to the steel bracket where the air filter housing is mounted on (sanded the paint and primer to put it in between the bracket and the body), battery to valve cover (i moved the black bracket to another location), from another steel bracket that's mounted on the starter and holds a clamp that holds a radiator hoes (hope this doesn't affect it in a negative way) to valve cover, from valve cover to a bracket with two screws on the trottle assembly, and finally from that bracket to the body again and the power steering fluid bracket mount (in between). I guess in this case more expensive is not the solution. So what do you think about my layout? Does it suck?

the first time i did my ground wires i did it with some cheap connectors, but then i got some gold plated ones at circuit city. oh, if you go in the road shop and ask for 1 or 2 they might give you them for free, instead of paying $5 for 2. anyway, the good part about daisychaining them is that you can run more wires at any time. you might want to try one to the firewall, there are some accessable bolts right behind the intake manifold. also, i ran one from the battery to the lower left part of the block, near the tranny.

I think i'll be doing that next. I have a huge gold plated connector connected to the battery and the first point of the ground wire, but the rest of them are normal connectors. Ehh..... i'll try multiple combinations and see if i could regain the ground improvement I witnessed on Wednesday night.

well my car kinda shakes and what not and this is what ive heard.
i was at a shop getting my frame looked at and i mentioned that my motor mounts needed to be replaced. the guy asked if my car vibrates at all, and i said yes. he said its because of the motor mounts and i should replace the one that is cracked or whatever. im assuming he is right, i have no reason to doubt him. havent gotten to it yet tho, so i cant tell u for sure

Hmm... i just replaced my mounts about 2 months ago or so. I don't think that's it, but i will be checking my mounts because you're making me worry (damn you). Thanks for the advice. Also, is it wise to invest on those POLYURETHANE ENGINE MOUNT INSERTS?

yes it is verwie to invest into those things...
