View Full Version : Spray Painting ABS plastic

Hey guys,
Just got my type-r grill and its rather dull in color..since its just flat black abs plastic..what do u reccomend to make it a glossy black? do I need to prep it or anything? just spray it with a gloss clear? or black glossy paint? thanks in advance.

I would first wet sand it with 1500grit sand paper to get any swirls or dirt off. Then use some Krylon high gloss black spray paint. And the grab a can of clear coat and spray it a few times as well.

........glosss it up...with black gloss paint...then some clear koat after...

You dont have to use that plastic prep? You should always clean something before sanding it 'cause you could sand dirt and wax into the product.
