there is oil out there for high milage cars, but i dont use it at all.. i use 10w-30 an acasionaly i will use lighter such as 5w-30 or something like that.. it supposidly helps keep the build up on the engine down to a min....

Don't use 20w50 that shit is way to think for an accord engine. Even with high mileage the thickest you want to use is 10w40. My car has 90000 miles on it and i still use fully synthetic 5w30 and it works great. And especially don't use thicker oil in the winter b/c its just gonna sludge up and make your engine run poorly. Try 10w40 synthetic.

if U go with synthetic oil, keep using the synthetic. Or vice versa.. keep using regular oil if U already use em. FYI: Honda dealer only use regular oil for oil change, not the synthetic one.

You won't have any trouble switching from regular to synthetic, the problems only happen when you change back to regular oil after using synthetic for a long period of time. If you put synthetic in one time to see how you like it, and you don't like it, it's not going to hurt anything by changing back to regular

Synthetic is made out of corn or something like that, 100% environmentally safe. Normal oil is exactly that, manufactured oil.

Anyone ever see that purple colored oil... kinda weird stuff. Forget its name. I just saw someone usuing this purple oil . I wouldnt dought if it was called purple oil.
Ams oil is good stuff to, but expensive. FYI synthetic oil usually costs alot more than normal stuff. Once I got it for the same price as normal stuff but thats cause the lady at checkers didnt know any better and gave me the discount for the normal oil on the synthetic so I got 5 qts of oil that should have been about 15$ for about 4$. Best deal I ever got.

plus.. with synthetic oil, you'll have longer mileage cycle for oil change...

Acouple things. the purple oil is called royal purple and it is the absolute best oil i have ever used in my car. Not only does it make the engine run smoother, if used in a high performance engine it can actually improve hp and torque numbers. And about being able to go longer between oil changes with synthetic: It is true that synthetic oil can be good for up to 9,000 miles, however there is not a single oil filter on the market that will last that long, so you still have to do oil changes every 3,000 miles. Sorry

no 5w-30 is the best but you can use 10w-30 in the summer if your car leaks 5w30

ain't 5w10 is not to light for a accord.........well my car is 84,000 mark
and i use 10w20.....but resently i try 20w50 to see the reponds....and my car seem to get a deeper tone coming from the muffler and my car is oiling great too

My 95 Accord have 165000 mile on it (last 40000 is highway since I have long communte to work). I am using Synthetic Blend 5W30 and it run like a dream. I think the most important is change oil in the regular interval and make sure the car is tune right. Full Synthetic oil is good in the beginning but it could cause the rubber seal and gasket go bad sooner. Anyway, I put more than 50000 miles a year on this car and ready for a H22 engine :)

Just my 2 cents
