View Full Version : Complaints about Accords

ACCLUDE

Title says it all.

Here's yur chance to vent about anything that you don't like about Accords.

My only two complaints are:

1. Rear wheel well rust - Honda knew about this and actually made some changes to try to prevent it, but it did not help too much as the hideous rear wheel wall rust is very common on the older Accords

and

2. Front plastic inner fenderwells comming undone at high speeds - I posted a thread about this on the old forum and it turned out to be a fairly common issue with fellow Accord owners. If Honda spent an extra few cents to a dollar on each Accord developing some better mounting or even different material, this could be prevented. It's unsafe when they come undone and get sucked in your wheel/brakes and could potentially cause an accident.

Other than that, I'm totally satisfied with Hondas product. What about you guys?

honda are to easy to steal and joe with a screw driver and steal a honda not just accords. the locks use the same internal design from car to car then made.

Only thing i hate is my freak'n brake rotors wrap like crazy, i've already had'm fix'd 2 times in the past 6 months. Not to worry tho, got the BREMBO ones coming, won'm today. And between my 15" and exhaust a lot of stuff rattles. Now a ? for you ACCLUDE, how hard, long, and how much does it take to replace a timing belt, i think mine is due.

I could be just me, but I hate changing the oil. Whatever frickin honda genious decided it was better to mout the damn oil filter sideways ought to have his ass kicked. Is it that hard to put it straight up and down. I always seem to make a mess with my 90. maybe its just me.

Anything and everything that has gone wrong I have fixed myself, sometimes witht the help of my dad. Hes been a mechanic for pretty much his whole life. And yes Ive done the fuel filter, pain in my ass. An hours worth of work for one stupid filter.

I've noticed that on older Accords, mine does it pretty fast

Lets see here...

1. Power windows going to slow, but pretty much fixed them with some silicon spray

2. The same wheel well problem.

and 3. The worst thing of all is not being able to figure out what the deal is with this stupid idle fluxuation problem....

besides that I keep beating the hell out of her and she always comes back with the love, I think my car is into pain or something no idea....

It sounds like the US edition accords were not made as strong as the Australian editon as the only thing I have to complain about is the central locking mechanisims sound like they jam sometimes and a faulty pcv valve that blew the crank seal

as for the plastic wheel wells, ive had my accord off the clock and no problems they are still there

-ya im goin to have to say the rust (easy to fix by grinding out all the rust and putting body filler in and getting it repainted)

-the fender well plastic comin out. I wasnt even goin fast and it flew out of the bottorm of my car.

-windows dont go up sometimes and if they do they go real slow

no lsd, multi link suspension with "anti-seize" bolts{yeah right}, fender wall collapse, gotta pay somebody to press your rotors off, SLAVE VALVES SUCK {im up to three now in two different cars}, bad window regulators matched with crap weather strip turns into black rubber vagina lip smaking against your window on the interstate, weak windsheild wiper that wraps around and hits your driver side window and scratches paint, previous owners{dont you hate findin the crap they did in your car?} and how the temperature controls are all cables, so if you put the retaining clip on wrong, no heat or A/C, and im done.

lets see...complaints... well its not a sports car so i cant complain about that...its not a luxury car so i cant complain about those issues either...only two things i can think of are the warping rotors, which has only happend once in the 7 years its been around and two, the column between the front and rear right door thingy next to your head as you drive, well everytime i accelerate it rattles like a mother, actually its somewhat quiet but i still it. something from below is rattling up the frame and i mean to fix it but i dont know what it is yet...and oh yeah, wasn't a fan of having a cassette player, but i bought a cd/mp3 player so its no prob :)

Been a long time peeps!!!! Yo Pat... SUP MAN!!!!!!???????!?!?!?!?!?!?

My number one complaint is ease of theft, and my second is the rusting rear quarter panel, right in front of the rear tires.

How have things been out here Lude? Still holding things down on the technical side out here?

The #1 Top reason why I hate my car, and I'm surprised no one else has said this......

The COST of PARTS! Anything aftermarket (IE NOT OEM) doesn't work or fit right, and the dealership makes a living from f*ckin you in the ass!

Other than that, nice to see you guys again. I've been gone for like a year. How's it going Pat? Justin? Nice to see some familiar faces still around (metaphorically speaking)!

Agree 1000% on getting raped by the dealer...door moulding clips were a joke! I have one main problem and its the god awful vibration as I am driving. Doesnt do it all the time but its bad when it does. Oh and the windows are mad slow...my friends are half way down the parking lot time I get my windows up!

Here's my one major complaint. The first time the car warms up, as I'm going down the road, the car misses for just one second and shudders. I guess it's when my electric fan kicks on. It's a significant loss of power I can feel @ highway speeds. Does anyone else experience this?
Oh, and here's one more. Of course, not enought power!
