i really liked how the old forum had the tech room seperated into four categories (engine, interior, exterior, suspension).

i agree with you on that one matts... i was just thinking that one just before i read your post.. phil should have it broke down into seprate postings like the old forum, makes finding info alot simpler....

hopefully he still might. it probably would have been difficult with so few threads, but its growing quickly.

no i think that it would be easyer to do with fewer threads, cause then we would just go to the section an post directly, instead of making insane amounts of posts an then him having to go thrue it all an find wich goes were.. but hey, everyone does something different then the next right... that is how diversity is formed...

ya me to, but even though chang sucks at times.. it is always good to have a little variaty in are forum... just as long as we dont have to resign up every time... cause that was a pain for me... it took three days of trying to finaly get it to go thrue....

yeah if there was a way to migrate the members' information from version to version that'd be awesome, but I kinda doubt it (heres why:)
Phil is doing MAJOR changes to the forum, he completely mods it to his own liking AFTER he gets the prefabs from whatever version of the board he selects. He then stays with it for as long as he is capable of it, because every time he changes versions, he has to remodify the forum until its finally back to his liking. SO that means that he will skip a LOT of versions until he goes ahead and upgrades to the latest, so there may well be a few years' difference between versions so there isn't any compatibility (like there would be if he updated every version).. He might be able to go into the backend and do stuff but databases are a royal pain in the ass to make significant modifications to through the backend.

yeah, I'm about to start work on a forum we'll see how THAT goes :) I think I can do it but I'm certainly going to see... only difference is I don't have the expectation of all of the previous users since I'll be working on a new one.

cool beans. I don't like photoshopping :( I can do it OK sometimes but its infuriating, painstaking, and not particularly rewarding work.

yeah PS is not a fun thing at all. I hate it. I'd rather use Lightwave/3dsMAX and design a 3d model of it and get an animation that way then go through the hassle of photoshopping.

I should always be able to confuse people, and make them agree with me even though they have no idea what I'm talking about. I think thats healthy :)
