Got Inspired by "Pimp My Ride"

And decided to go nuts on my interior. I figured I'd be stripping it anyway soon so I figured I would go purple! So I took my dash apart, got some plastic deep purple paint and painted my center counsil, dash board, air vents, cup holder, and door knobs along with the mirror covers. Came out looking hella fine... the purple is so dark that it really lookds black... Which was the stock color, but in sunlight its like holy shit! ITs Purple! Matches nicely with my Zex Bottle. Anyway, Now that I've gone completely insane I was wondering if I can do DYI carpet die? I want to die that carpet peice on the door, and diy my floor mats to deep purple color. It will make a nice match of beige and dark purple... Any suggestion on what I can do?

i've heard stories that dying carpet is really difficult and its better to just buy a carpet kit precut. but idk.

you could always try soaking it in a 5 gallon bucket of dyi... get the color an follow directions an let that baby sit in that bucket for a while... that should work i would guess. as long as it is permanit

Do you think you could send me a couple pics of your interior? I am redoing the interior of my car in red and white and I was a bit hesitant to paint my dash because with it being vinyl i didn't know how it would turn out. Id be hesitant with anything that isnt a dye but if some have done it and it works cool. Id like to see it finished for sure.

not a good idea to paint vinyl....it will crack...definately...you need to either dye or rewrap it...i dyed mine using VHT vinyle penatrating dye....
