A few days ago i raced my friend in his 92-95 civic 2 door. Im not sure what year or model it is but i know its in that range and has vtec. I have a 94 ex sedan with an aem cold air intake and he has a catback system, cams, short ram intake, and a busted headlight from when he hit a deer. When we raced I had him until i shifted to 3rd but he was alone and i had my girlfriend and brother with me. My brother is like 250 and my girlfriend is around 100 and id like to know if i would be able to beat my friend if i didnt have the extra weight.
Also im looking into exhausts...anybody have a tanabe because thats what im looking at right now?

very simple.... 100 lbs is .10 of a sec off ON AVERAGE in 1/4 mile SO lets say you lost .30 of a sec in 1/4 mile it would be about 2-3 car lenghts. SO by how far did he whoop you?

even with the people gone the civic has the cat back intake and the cams that would still give him a edge

race him again by yourself in the car, Accord torque will own him in the beggining and later on he will never catch up to you.

Man Ive raced so many vtec civics its not even funny and from a 50(or more)mph jump I usually own them! My accord is pretty much stock and automatic. Are you sure he didnt spray? Also I'd like to clear up this whole backpressure/lost power thing. When you decrease backpressure you dont lose power, you gain power! It does tend to decrease low end torque but its not lost its just that your power band is moved higher in the rpm range. If you have an automatic(as I do) you will feel the decrease in lower rpm torque but if youve got a stick and launch the way youre supposed to you should se nothing but improved acceleration!
