Has anyone got an h22 engine from them(totaljdm.com) or some other online company?
I am looking at an H23 $2500+$200 shipping.Items Included with the Swap:
5-Speed Manual Hydraulic Transmission
Engine Control Unit (ECU)
Distributor
Intake Manifold
Exhaust Manifold
Alternator
Air Conditioning Pump
Power Steering Pump
Vtec Solenoid
Half Shaft (Intermediate Shaft)
is this a complete swap? I heard you need prelude coilovers to handle the weight of the engine.
H22G2 97-01 preludes $2300+shipping
this comes with all the stuff above distributor, vtec, etc!!!
but it has these options
Available Options (if in-stock):
Axles: $75.00USD
Shift Linkage: $70.00USD
LSD: $375.00USD

Sound like everything is there. But you CAN'T put prelude coilovers on your accord. You are going to need an after market Accord coilover system to handle the weight though.

Not nesscerely, H22a is only heavier by like 100 lbs. Not even. So its like having a chick sitting on the hood of your car... It still drivable.

Are the engines a good deal? So for coilovers get the Skunk2 or other brand names. does anyone have a recommendation?

Also check out Hmotorsonline, they got some cool engines on there. They have them with just the engine, tranny, and ecu as well as complete swaps. They also have both JDM and USDM swaps.

When it finally comes time for me to pick up a h22, when money finally lets me, I am sure that I am gonna go thru totaljdm. I don't know anybody personally that bought from them but I only heard good things about em. I am thinking of ditching the 5speed conversion and just going auto, then eventually turbo. If I stay auto I can have the h22a by august 05. I really do want a 5 speed tho, I just don't have the kinda money to buy all the parts used or not for the tranny conversion. I know when I get the h22a me and the boys are putting a timing belt, cometic head gasket and waterpump, and cam seals on it. I just wanna make sure its gonna run right and I wanna make sure everything inside of it is clean b4 I stick it in the car cause it's alot easier to work on it with it out. Other than that I just might pick up a set of enjo mounts even tho I don't need em. Any suggestions?

Auto is like $300-500 cheaper than manual...I think I might just stay w/ the auto as well so I don't have to wait as long either...You should do all that u said and i would suggest new sparkplugs/wires, pulleys, headers, a/c/pwr st. belts, euro-r intake manifold, maybe the modified ecu from efficientexperts.com for the jdm h22a (should add 20+hp and bring your vtec lower down the rpm). You can get the h22a complete, cheaper at places like Rims and things.com, JDM.Inc, Soko.com, Asapmotors.com. for $2000 and under. The totaljdm is like $2400??

True true, I am gonna get a set of dc sports headers for the h22, new ps and alt belt, a new auto tensioner for the timing belt and i will put in a new balance belt while i am there. I am gonna try and use my aem pulleys with the h22, should work. I was looking at complete gasket kits, i might get that i'm just waiting for a good price, im also looking into a heat shield intake manifold gasket to lower them intake temps. Possibly an upgraded manifold. Im prolly not going with the LSD option cause my pockets are tight as it is. New plugs/wires is a must, i am wanna go with a ignition upgrade, but i might go all oem until i can get more money up afterwards. I am still researching every little detail about the engine and the swap. I'm just trying to put everything together to see where i need to be with money, if it comes down to it, i can always get a personal loan even though i don't need more bills. Other than that I am doin it myself with some friends.

has anyone seen a JDM h22 for less than $2500 or is that the best price to get everything you need for the swap.

I seen them as low as 1600, just remember you get what you pay for. I was quoted 2k with shipping from totaljdm cause they got a lot of h22's and they wanna get rid of some to make more room. I was quoted for a auto tho, 5spd will be more by a few hundred. I did some "accounting" last night, i still owe 3,800 on my car, damn seems like i'll never get there. I need to hit the lotto! :(

yah, true....just look at their catalog...not many parts for the accords...anyways, you won't need to change the suspension...The jdm prelude is lighter and the engine weight difference would balance out...unless u would feel more secure then whatever floats ur boat...the preludes axles would be nice to replace tho' cuz their beefier for the long run....

Ur friend didn't replace the axles for prelude ones??I read a few articles on the internet that stock civic's axles in the first couple of months break due to the h22 leaning backwards when it sits and dramatic increase of weight over the d-series...I can't believe the installer didn't even recommend it...I figure he should replace the front suspension also jus' to make sure...I dunno....but if everything's fine das good...I wouldn't drive it on excessively bad roads tho'.
The civic's front end must be a lot lower in the front too....you have any pics of your friend's civic w/ the h22???I'd love to see that....
