I was just surfing www.consumerguide.com and read that the 1998 - 2002 V6 Accords did not come with a manual trany! is this true or what?

Yes, 1995-2002 V6 Accords in United States and Canada never came with manual, all automatics...

Honda started using manual with V6 in 7th generation Accords, 2003+.
