Cost$?

Does anyone know how much it would cost to port and polish an H22 i am looking into resleeving the engine and had a thought that since it's going to be in the shop why not try getting a few more HP out of the trip. Any idea's would be a help thanx.

Unfortunatly i don't know how much it cast, but i got a quick tip about port & polishing. Port matching intake and exhaust ports is a good i dea but don't get the intake port polished too much b/c you want it to be fairly roungh so the fuel and air mixes completly before it is ignited. It you make the intake port smooth the fuel will not burn completly and you will LOSE hp and your fuel efficency will drop. Polishing the exhaust ports is fine though.

If you are gonna have your engine the the shop thought another way to get some more hp is to get the throttle body bored out and then the intake bored to match that. Another way is to get the intakes runners ported to match the intake ports on the head. But again don't get the runners on the manifold polished for the same reason you don't polish the intake ports.
