u can take the bolts out....but to do it properly...you still have to hav the hub and rotor separated using a hydralic press.....and depending on how many miles you have on your car...you might as well....while its all apart...put new wheel bearings on the front....i think it ends up being like 80extra....but out of the way for a long long time

I kinda have the same question: My rotors went to shit and I'm trying to replace them however I dont want to get a set of new bearings because i just changed them like 6 months ago. So is there any way of replacing the rotors without having the bearings replaced again? Cuz I know that when I changed my rotors last time they fucked up my bearings and thats why i had them changed like couple of months later. Can pressed on rotors be safely removed without damagin the bearings? So i wont have to replace them again!

yeah they definately can be....i would only replace them if they have a bunch of mileage on them....they are just pressed off on a hydralic press...not alot of stress is actually on the bearings so if the place you take it...does the job right.....then they will be fine to use again

all u need is a slide hammer no need for a fucking press... take the axle nut off its a 36 mm and bolt up the slide hammer to the hub and slap the hub off.. i have never used a press ever on accord rotors and i work on cars for a living.

Thats exactly how they fucked up my bearings.... with a silde hammer... They banged it soo hard that my bearing went to shit.... the proper way to remove it is with the press and thats what I'm going to do... once i find a press ;-)

wow.. glad i didnt listen when some of u guys did hammer it out.. i just took it ot a machine shop to get them resurfaced.. with rotor on car.. reason why they got wrapped could be the lugs not torqued down evenly and to the rite specs.. or brake pads been old and dont work too well. and or calipers.. but der could be other stuff. also my rotors where still in spec for resurfacing.. :D

using a slide hammer properly will not damage the bearing cage.. what it is people use the slide hammer in a angle and cock the hub and damage the bearing.... ive done my fair share of accord front rotors and to this day have not damage any bearings

what?!

wtf are u guys talking bout.. u dont need no press.. i tink.. cuz teh rotor is one peice and the center peice with bearing is one peice.. on accords u dont repack bears as they are sealed... u do a bearing test.. and if it fails.. u buy a new bearing .. which has the whole thing that u need sealed.. and u bolt that up to ur old or new rotors.. and install back on cars.. its been a while since i talked bout it. .so i could be wrong somewhere but thats how it goes to wat i can remember..
