I was wondering which you guys thought would be better for a 96 lx, a supercharger or a turbo? I have found a few turbos for it but I can't seem to find any supercharger. Any information or opinions will be appreciated. Thanks

my opinion has always been that an engine which has a fairly large amount of horsepower, but low on torque would benifit greatly from a supercharger, whose power kicks in immediatly, and continues through the power band. however many people prefer turbos. they are easy to modify/upgrade, and give the greatest power increase without adding much weight. and a huge front mount innercooler looks very intimidating. i think the thing you should consider most is the applications. if you are looking for faster starts, and don't top out your car much a supercharger would be good. if you are able to keep the turbo spooled then that would be the best option.
there are a few turbo kits out there for the f22, and you could always peice together your own setup. i have never seen a supercharger for the f22, but there are a few different ones for the h22, namely jackson racing.

so it's better swap with H22a first then supercharge it... right? ;)

I think the overall consensus is saving up for an h22 swap instead of building your f22 is your best bet, you add a 2nd cam and vtec for those of us with the LXxus's :D There are also a wider variety of turbo/supercharger options for the h22. I got 102k on my bad bitch of a beast and when its time i'm looking toward the h22 swap not the rebuild of the f-series.

For some reason i want to keep the f22b2 that came with my car and see how far i can go with it before i break down and buy and h22. Its probably going to be a big waste of money but i want to see what kind of potential the f22b2 hold, and see if i can unlock it

a turbo would be a good start. you could also build up the internals and raise the boost, or just raise the boost, and blow the motor, then get the h22. if you do get the turbo, i would also suggest getting a good custom exhaust setup. larger piping is preferred on a turbocharged car, and most of the aftermarket exhaust systems are designed to handle about the same amount of airflow as the stock motor would put out.

When you say bigger are you talking like 2.75 or like 3.0? Cause i heard that anything bigger than 2.75 on an import actuallt takes away hp.

you probably sholdn't take my work on this, i don't have any experience with it, but i think that people were going with 2.75" piping

yea me personally i like the feel that a supercharger gives while driving. i understand there is a loss of hp to gain but turbo's just sound so 80's to me for some reason..... haha

my cars slow id take either of them, but id go with turbo, i actually think my cars better off the line than up top, i mean i pull hard down low in 2nd but when my friend in the gt started pulling away slightly i was confused and so was he.. maybe ill have to test that again
