My #8 vacuum line (fuel injector vacuum line) broke off little black box that is located next to my battery in the front of the engine bay. what is the little black box? and how much for a new one?

have you got a picture of it? can you snap a pic with a camera? If its the little box I think it is, I just took it off of my car when I installed my ram intake I don't know what it was for :) I'll go take a look at my engine bay tomorrow and try and figure out what your talking about. Its SNOWING here, we're up to about 1" now :)

dont have a digital camera... but it is a black box... that vacuum hose #8 connects to and there is also a little green electrical conector that connects to it too... but if you took it off... what did you do to the vacuum hose?

hang on a minute I'm uploading a pic of what I think your talking about now. I think I just plugged it, or maybe it plugged into the ram.

I think your going to have to wait on Pattrick for a full explanation. I believe that box measures how much air is getting sucked into the engine.. but I'm not really sure. I know I took mine out and I'm pretty sure I just disconnected vacuum line 8 and plugged it. I'm not sure if that was the right thing to do or not, but my car seems to run fine :) I sold it but my bro hasn't had any trouble with it so I suppose all is well.

its lying around somewhere, I dunno where I can look tomorrow.. if I remember correctly it was rusty though, there is a little metal piece that goes inside that was corroded and rusty, but I'll look for it.
