More board features!

Ok, I want to make AR.com a community with better options for members that help the boards more. Heres a list of some features available. Let me know what you like or other ideas you make have. BE CREATIVE!

- Senior members get a private forum
- Senior members get larger photo/avtar file sizes
- Senior members can move posts
- Senior members can warn users
- Senior members can attach photos
- Users with over 100 posts get FREE 10" decals
- Users that refer over 20 (Active) members get a FREE T-Shirt.
- Senior members get 5% referal commission on orders placed through TOP END when using theyre affiliate code.
- Users can only upload a profile photo if they have over 30 posts.
- Users can only upload an avtar if they have over 30 posts

OTHER POSSIBLE OPTIONS...
- Only certain groups can use signatures
- Only certain groups can add/edit calendar events.
- " " " can use PM tracking
- " " " can get higher amounts of PMS
- Senior users get special color username in posts
- more prizes ..

i think like after noobie you can have like a 1 line sign, am 2 line, senior 3, ss 3+
amature can add calender events, senior can edit
rookie can use pm tracking
senior larger pm account

yeah the sticker idea would be fine with me... i was thinking about getting some cards made, an placing them on the accords that i see around... the ones that look like they are having good thought put into them... you know kind of show them who we are... (but not just any accords... uspecialy if it has a 3 foot wing an more stickers than hp)... lol know what i mean...

Probably a part like strut bar or something of equal value depending what you already have. some contests maybe t-shirts, video games, ect// depending how everything goes.

yeah i beat it i think fri or sat,

theres the skyline, 350z, umm im not sure what else in between the rx7 and 350z, some of them were pretty hard give ya a hint though its really 112/111 ;)

and you gotta keep playing to get some of the locked mags, and you keep earning rep point after you beat it for the profile and you get rep points for online games.. what cars do you use, i used the eclipse for the drift, and gtr for everythign else

oh ya, another idea that i came up with was for the ride of the month or something... like you know everyone submits some sort of ballit on what members car should be nominate, an then the following month we all place a vote on who should get ride of the month... an at the end of the year who ever was picted for ride of the month gets put into somesort of vote an the winner gets something for as a prize... i dunno just a thought, what do you guys think of that one...

i know we already have a fetured rides section....lol.. but the way i was saying to do it is alot differint... we all as a hole group pick who should get that lucky spot for the month.. this would be something to start the first of the year.. so there for this month we vote for next months ride, an also nominat an vote for the following as well an then so on.. you see what im sayin.... then at the end we vote out of the cars that we nominated every month to have a car of the year... it is sort of like how a car lowrider car show has ride of the year or something like that.. but obviously there would be some kind of group catigorisation... such as street custom, rims i/h/e/ or full custom (same) but with lip/kits an wings an motor mods, an the radical ((again same) but with much more stuff, such as swinging doors tail light conversions, front clips full interior... you know are version of an online car show, but with accords only...

my virginia forum does a rotm, everyone votes and then whoever wins does like an interview and photoshoot but since thats local its easier to do the photshoot stuff

ya true the photo shoot part would be a little diffecult i guess, but i think what could be done for that is to have phil talk to the person online, or call them email the questions to them or something to get the interview... an he can tell them what exactly he would want shot for the photos, an then that person can do that part, an send the photos back to phil an from there he can finish the rest... but of cours the photos would have to be very clear an visable..

we could do it something like the east v's the west typ of thing as well... you know have all the cars from the east coast compete for the top ranking at the end of the year, an same with the west coast... an then at the end of the year, the top winner from each side goes up against each other an then a winner is picked from there... sorta like the supper bowl but of the cars or something like that...lol. sorry im always thinking...lol

I am not senior on the old or the new forum (going by the new specs, I was on the old forum but I only had like 500 posts I think) :( I guess I'll just have to work at it I never got too much postwhoring done on the old forum.. like I did it for a day or two and called it quits.

I read that post from Justin yesterday and had no clue wtf he was talking about... I just figured it out a minute ago, and I have to say I am quite dissapointed in you two. (*insert parental condescension here*). I was not technically quitting, I was just cutting back, reforming myself, and so on. But MORE importantly I didn't quit in any way, I just took a break :) needed to take a deep breath before diving in, and that sort of thing.

Okay here is something else we could add to the features list. I think that starting with either Ameature or Senior, you should be allowed to do two things:

1) Freeze all of the threads you start

and

2) Delete / Edit any post that is in threads you start.

The reason for this is because some of our threads go on and off topic (which is alright I think), but eventually the question gets answered or whatever, and it would be great if we could go through our own threads (we should take responsibility for what we start) and gut them out so its only got USEFUL relevant information in them, and close them just because if the question is answered that just about wraps it up.

Take my Headers thread for example.. it started out good, went off onto lego accords, meandered around, then it got finished so it would be fitting to gut the irrelevant stuff out, close the thread, and call it a day. That way we can easily get rid of clutter and keep the forum clean.

eye candy- pics of cars and whatever else
roadkill- this speaks for itself

that should help keep the whoring up informative threads down. and the eye candy should keep everyone entertained.

i'm a little upset that my previous posts don't count...sure i was only up to like 300+ or so but that was some hard work ya know? Anyways, i'm in agreeance to the idea about voting for the ride of the month, prize packages, and filtering out the pointless part of the some of our posts. I'll try to do my part and provide as much info as i can about everything i know. Accordinglydone.com called themselves the alpha site but AR thats only because AR is rebuilding from the ground up to be stronger than ever...I still sport the AR sticker on my rear panel window :cool:

yeah also if its gone we won't have anything to talk about :). No, if your going to change something have the ranking be based upon reputation instead of posts... or have there be a coorolation between posts and reputation (say, reputation =1, 10 posts=1 reputation... so if you have posted 11 times and gotten ONE good reputation, that gives you a score of 2)... and then set different requirements for levels (noobie, rookie, amateur, senior, etc.)

I'm with you....I had more than 5,000 on the old forum and now I've got one of the smallest post counts around. Not that the post count is all that matters, but I made tons of usefull posts and that post count was the one thing I had to verify that. Now it's gone and that means that I no longer have quite the same credibility that I did. If 5,000+ previous posts doesn't count for shit than it kinda bothers me a little. I can deal with it, but its just such a hassle to have to build it up again.

I like a lot of the ideas you guys have. When were some of these things going to be implemented?

i think by now i would have somthng like 4000 posts now..lol... oh well its like getting your car jacked, you get it back with nothing, an you get to rebuild it from scratch all over again...o well, at least the old school kats know what your credability is worth pat, you gave alot of good info in the old forms, an now you get to start fresh with the nubies in here... but im sure tat you can copy an past alot of the older info to makeup some of your post..lol.. just a though.... :D

I'm trying to get a copy of the old database to store on my PC so I can cut and paste anything needed. The old forum is going to be removed eventually and I'd still like to have a copy of everything readily available. We'll see if Phil can figure out a way for me to get a copy. I'd hate to see all the old info and posts/links gone forever!
