Ok, heres the deal. I just did the vtec light mod. Hooked up to the vtec solonoid wire( green with yellow stripe) and went for a ride.vtec light came on at 2500rpm, vtec engaged at around 4500rpm. I thought hmmm, well thats not right so being as how I live two miles from the Honda dealership, I decided to go make a visit with the head mechanic and guess what I found out? Vtec light mod is bullshit! Yep, it seems that the signal that your led light is getting is not a signal that the vtec is actually engaging but rather a signal from the computer telling your solonoid to engage at 2500rpm but guess what? The actuall vtec lockup doesnt accure untill the oil pressure has checks out the right psi(around 4000-4800rpm on f22b). needless to say I'm pretty dissapointed especially after drilling two holes for my LEDs. :( Guess I'll probably just wire em to my nitrous to let me know when its engaged. ;) (like I cant tell) Oh and one more thing that gave away the "fake" vtec signal.....VTEC doesnt engage unless your at wide open throttle and my light was coming on at exactly 2500rpm no matter what position the gas pedal was at. DAMN this pisses me off!!

God the things people will say when they got no idea what everyone else is talking about. Its not for horsepower, its just a light. :P

Ok so i misunderstood what he was saying. Still whats cool about knowing when your Vtec is engaged? So you can try to feel the power increase?

No, I just like to make sure everything is working properly, you know, same reason that I installed oil pressure and voltmeter gauges. I just like knowing whats going on with my engine ;) unfortunatly, I found out too late that the vtec light doesnt really mean that your vtec is actually engaging. But it was worth it as I've made a new friend at the Honda dealership who also happens to be the head mechanic and is all into street racing scene....:)
